Bless her, I pray. I just had this surgery in February. However, I am much older. I belong to the Scoliosis support group in my community. These kids bounce right back and do well. You will be amazed at the improvement she will see. It is not easy for her, or her family, but it will be worth it in the long run. (I was at 106 degrees by the time I had my surgery. It is great to be able to tuck shirts in now!) Take care and God bless and keep you. I'll check in with you via Freep-mail.

Houston area FReepers, this is one of "ours" so please join me in a prayer for Netmeg's full and complete recovery.

TXYellowRose, I'll be asking Him to grant you peace, strength, and assurance of a full recovery for your beautiful little girl. And for Netmeg's courage and determination. I know she has a positive attitude and she's going to be so proud to be healed!

(And I've left many names out because I lost screen names when I got Explorer....:-( ... Please keep this child in your prayers.)

Prayers uttered for Netmeg/Megan and Yellow Rose. What a privilege to make mention of them before the One Who cares for them better than we can!

I had the same surgery in 1975 in Oakland ca.by Dr Taylor King Smith. His father was Chief of orthopedics at U of Texas. I was in such pain that I was ready to give up. It was totally sucessful and made a different man of me. They do it different now and it is much better. Our friends daughter had it done 2 or 3 years ago and she is fine. I am 68 and happy as a clam at high tide.
