"And as a parent, you feel it's alright for your children to watch saturday morning cartoons, as their (sic) can't possibly be any bad messages for them to watch."

Hahahaha! TV as babysitter!
Whatever happened to parents' taking responsibility for the influences on their children?

Let's blame Ellen for the fact that we're too lazy to pay attention to information sources which mold our children's minds from early youth! It's all big, bad, lesbian Ellen's fault!

Give me a break. I am 43, and I watched TV cartoons every Saturday morning when I was a kid. My parents did not have to worry about us seeing anything other than cereal ads. Saturday morning was the one time my hard working parents could catch a break from five crazy kids running them ragged. It's no different now, except that now we have to worry about crap like this being fed to our kids during cartoon shows!

My 8 year old watches Fox Kids most Saturdays. Do you get up at 6 am to take your kids to the library? That's when my kids get up, and I am not going to be ashamed that they turn on the TV instead of waking me up at the crack of dawn. I guess I am doomed to watching them grow up to be axe murderers. /sarcasm/

Welcome to Free Republic. I have this uncanny ability to spot left-wing newcomers, Drunk. Next, I'll be running a search on all of your posts, to see what not-so-subtle ridicule for conservative common sense you've posted on our other threads.

No. It's an overwhelming combination of factors. We're not too lazy. In most cases, the modern economy compels both parents to work outside the home, frequently with a lengthy commute. Saturday mornings used to be a time when some of us could catch up on our sleep.

You can bet the people responsible for these commercials are still asleep at that time. Absolutely nothing -- not parental responsibilities, not jobs, not even an existing infection with HIV or other sexually-transmitted diseases -- will ever get in the way of the late-night partying, drinking, drug use and whoring around by most members of the homosexual community.

What are your children doing while you're washing dishes? Do you make them stand in the corner facing the wall so nobody can influence them when you're not watching?
