Ok, this is a free for all thread. Come in and take your best shots. I promise I won't delete it or get upset. Get it out of your systems and then we will see if we can solve the problems. There always several sides to any story and several possible solutions to any problem. I'd like to hear them all and I'd like to solve as many problems as we can and get this forum kicking socialist butt again instead of kicking each other. So, please anyone with a complaint or a problem or a possible solution, (moderators, posters, FAB, everyone) please chime in. Thanks, Jim

My only wish would be that we could choose old style versus new style in our preferences, rather than having to choose it on each thread. I have digital cable, so long threads do not bother me.

The very spirit and soul of FR revolves around individuals who share common passions for the integrity of the US Government and pursuit of the truth.
News stories from all corners of the world, and all corners of the political spectrum would be posted to FR for debunking, discussion and comment. Published reports and commentary would contain material that was both fact and fiction; truth and propaganda.
The beauty of FR is/was that we are ALL able to see these stories and DECIDE FOR OURSELVES whether they had any validity or value.
The introduction of Rambo moderators to DELETE published News Reports (as was done to me today after 160 replies) is patently OFFENSIVE! It is CONTRARY to the very spirit and soul that caused FR to flourish.
Moderators are certainly necessary to delete violent, abusive, pornographic and dangerous (military) information. They are certainly necessary to reassign stories from the "Breaking News" window.
But they should NEVER DELETE ENTIRE POSTS because THEY are concerned its propaganda from the enemy. WE ARE EACH BETTER QUALIFIED TO JUDGE PROPAGANDA THAN THE MODERATORS. It can be argued then that the posts NOT deleted are in fact ACCEPTABLE PROPAGANDA of the moderators.
FR should not even be getting into this type of editting and agendized prioritization. Let the Freepers decide for themselves.
For reference my post WAS Breaking News "9 Mysterious Bodies at Quetta suspected to be US Special Ops". It received 160+ responses before it was pulled. I was not informed.
I used to spend time researching NEW articles for posting to FR for everybodys consideration. But I wil darn sure STOP wasting my time.
If others like me decide also to stop wasting their time posting news stories then there IS NO MORE FR.
We may as well go to the thoroughly scrubbed and dumbed-down Lucianne.com

Post-rant color commentary: I like raw unadulterated news from any source which is being published to more than a handful of people. We at Freerepublic are the best d@ng BS detectors and propaganda debunkers in the country. Our instinct for news analysis has been proven correct many hundreds of times over and over. We figure it out BEFORE the mainstream news outlets BECAUSE we get the raw unfiltered stuff first.

I thought the names of those boys was more important than that! And it was a news release from the DoD so I didn't think the "loose lips" rule applied. I appreciated the fact that the thread wasn't removed completely. I've just been curious. Was it not considered breaking news? Hillary's blouse is?
I'm so confused I don't know whether to scratch my watch or wind my backside! ;-)

Geeze, you name the place, and then you forget how to spell it. Haha
As it is, I rarely have a clue what happened and hate to keep sending them back to you...
I'd like to see the messages that replace deleted comments augmented with a word or two of explanation: "Reply #14 deleted by moderator for advocating violence."
I'd also like to see moderators allow us greater latitude to interpret rumors. Rather than deletion, why not allow a tag at the top of the story in large bold print: "This thread is barely substantiated and below our standards of trustworthiness. Use your own judgment."
That way, if for instance the Chinese press reports binladen dead, we can still read the rumor here but Management can still maintain high standards of accuracy.
As far as people attacking each other, that you can never fix. The problem with Conservatives is that we are all one varing degree of rightousness. Liberals on the other hand are all the same degree of lowlife, so nothing to fight over.
Passions erupt, and we all get pissed off because we're soooo much more right than the other opinionated clown. So hey what are ya gonna do?
Your doing a helluva job for the Internet and your country. FR is the greatest board on the face of the earth to get truth, justice and the American Way...you know what the media considers crap unless the polls are going against them. I don't see your censoring of some posts and comments wrong. Hell its your house and you make the rules. We need to abide more to those rules and keep them as the letter of the law here.
