A group of Afghan children collect packets of food aid after an U.S. aircraft completed a night time air drop over a refugee camp in Kumkishlyak in Northern Afghanistan, October 25, 2001. Afghanistan's ruling Taliban on Thursday dismissed as U.S. propaganda a Pentagon statement that they intended to poison food dropped by U.S. aircraft or provided by humanitarian groups to Afghan civilians. The Pentagon said on Wendesday that it had received information the Taliban may poison the food supplies to Afghan civilians and blame the United States. REUTERS/Vasily Fedosenko

What is this? Isn't our courageous media supposed to be showing us how horrible the U.S. is by displaying pictures of bombed out baby milk factories and old folks' homes? How dare the publish this...propaganda that makes the U.S. look like it actually cares about the women and children of Afghanistan, unlike the ruling Taliban there! [/sarcasm]

On a serious note, does anyone have a close up of what's written on the sides of those food packets we're dropping?

I've seen it several times, but I don't have a link. There are pictures of people eating the food and instructions (in English which doesn't really matter since 85% of the population is illiterate). There's also the usual "recommended daily allowanc" stuff along with an American flag and "A gift of food from the American people".

There is also "This is a gift from the American People" stenciled on the outside of these packages. Inside, the packages have the contents described.

"No they dont all "look alike" but they all hate Christians and Jews alike.."birds of a feather..."

The US office of propoganda is doing a fine job to keep the oil flowing ..but as O'Reilly pointed out the illiteracy rate there is 70% they have no clue who is feeding them..the Talibon probibly tells them they are..

Hitler was once a sweet looking child too

The US office of propoganda will have to do better than this

BTW none of those children look like they are starving..go to Africa and look you will see what real starvation looks like..these are cute kids selected because they are good propaganda

You can put your fist down now we have all seen it

Just an observation: These people are not in Taliban territory: you can see it in the womens' faces (more accurately: you can see the womens' faces).

Also, the little girl looks suspiciously clean and cute.

I really hope the pics are authentic, but I have to suspect it's our own propaganda.

Next we need to start dropping shoes.

Looks like we need to drop parents. Bring those kids over here. We'll find homes for them.

Ya, I'm sure they've never seen an American flag nor can they speak either. Boo!

I'm sure most of the adults recognize the US colors in the package markings from the Taliban's anti-American propaganda.

They are probably familiar with them as they see their husbands and daddies burning them in the streets as they yell "Death to the Infidel Americans"

The US office of propaganda better figure out what it is going to say to the American public when our troops come home to tell us that these sweet faced babies were shooting at um
