A group of Afghan children collect packets of food aid after an U.S. aircraft completed a night time air drop over a refugee camp in Kumkishlyak in Northern Afghanistan, October 25, 2001. Afghanistan's ruling Taliban on Thursday dismissed as U.S. propaganda a Pentagon statement that they intended to poison food dropped by U.S. aircraft or provided by humanitarian groups to Afghan civilians. The Pentagon said on Wendesday that it had received information the Taliban may poison the food supplies to Afghan civilians and blame the United States. REUTERS/Vasily Fedosenko

Yes ,Americans are running over to Europe and Asia to adopt "adorable" children, when there are American kids in need of families..I think adoption is great..a wonderful gift to a child..but if it was only for the child, minority babies are looking for families too....to deny the self interest in foreign adoptions is foolish
You have been challenged many times on the thread to respond to the words of Holy Scripture that deal directly with how a Christian is to deal with his enemies.
You have ignored those challenges and revealed yourself as anti-Christian.
Don-o said that.
Your post ,you were the one to raise it not me

Those packets were made up some time ago, well before 9-11 or even 2001 in most cases. They've been sitting in warehouse somewhere. The design applies "lessons learned" trying to drop food to the Kurds in Norther Iraq, where some on the ground were killed or injured by falling sacks of rice and such. These packets are light enough, and have enough surface area, that they fall more or less like leaves, rather than a sack of potatoes. That means we can drop from higher up, as we did early on, and that in turn means we can start dropping before the air defenses are 100% supressed. The packets we're dropping in Afghanistan are the meatless variety, but there are others with meat. The last thing we wanted was to give the Tallywackers the oportunity to pull what other Afghans did on the Brits, telling the Muslim soliders of the British Indian Army that the bullet lube was pork fat, and the Hindu ones that it was beef fat. No meat, OK with everyone. But as Mick Dundee said "you can live on it, but...".
And they're all at each other's throats when nobody else is around--wait, they're at each other's throats now. The Northern Alliance is mostly non-Pashtun. The only reason they haven't beaten them is because they've been fighting among themselves.
And don't let the Arabs fool you. The Saudis look down on all non-Saudi Arabs, the Palestinians look down on the Bedouins and the Egyptians, and the feeling is mutual, the oil-rich Arabs look down on everybody else, and all the Arabs despise the Palestinians, believe it or not. The Arabs hate the Persians, the Pakistanis hate the non-Pashtuns and the Indians, and the Persians. You get the idea. Tribalism is their biggest problem, not the Great Satan U.S.
To answer your parsed question. I cannot answer for the character of God. The God of the OT and New is the same; does the OT show that God smote ungodly people, of course. Of course, Jesus came to show us that God desires that we love our neighbor as ourselves, guess you must have missed that passage.
Love, food drops and bombs at the Taliban. Fits with my philosophy.
The humantarian rations are high in protein but contain no meat due to the dietary limitations of different cultures. You don't drop beef on Hindus etc.
Only a country as good and strong as the USA can feed the oppessed at the same time as we blast the oppressors.
USA FOREVER!
See the box around the heart it can't let anything in and all it gives out is anger.
LSU Tigers are forever as is the love you give your children and the love returned manyfold to you.
Time for a little Theology 101?
Ever hear of the Incarnation?
Ever think that God was "sending a message" when He took on human flesh and human nature?
Do you recall the words of Jesus Christ, "Ye have heard it said...(quotes OT)...but I say ..."
Do you understand the signifigance of the rending of the veil of the Temple on Great and Holy Friday?
Do you?
