I should have left in the headline to "explain" the title -
= I Heart My Dog's Head

I once bought mugs for my sister and her husband that read, "I Heart My Dog's Head" and "I Heart My Cat's Head." They still have them.

You know what would make a nice addition to this thread (if I could put my hands on the book)? The passage on terror by the doctor in "Heart of a Dog" by Bulgakov.
Maybe tomorrow.

Back in the '80s when those "I [heart] my dog" bumper stickers were really popular, there was this guy who continually ran an ad in the "Rolling Stone" classifieds for a sheet of stickers with pictures of screws on them. They were the same height as the bumper stickers, so the idea was you'd take them and put them over the heart on the bumpers of people you didn't like. Then they'd drive around for days, unaware they were bragging to the world that "I [SCREW] my Border Collie."

A few years ago, I remember seeing an ad for a company that sold a "modifier" sticker for those "I (heart) My Dog" things. It was about 3" round, and was just a big picture of a wood screw, designed to cover up the (heart) symbol on the original bumper sticker.
Handy for people you don't like. Shoulda bought thousands of 'em.
