The building (National Postal Equipment Repair Facility) had recieved equipment from five postal facilities that had been contaminated with anthrax on the East Coast.
The decision to evacuate the building (at the Forbes Industrial Park in Topeka, Kansas) came after seven employees called the health agency Tuesday morning reporting flu-like symptoms. An eighth person who works as a postal worker in Topeka reported similar symptoms.
The health agency responded by taking nasal swabs from each employee for testing by the Kansas Department of Health and Enviornment.

We know this was not the intent of the terrs. They don't even know where the hell Topeka is. Nothing to see here people, move along. Spend your money. No reason to panic.

The article does indicate they received equipment from the buildings out east that were contaminated....but whether the equipment they got is, not sure. This could just be the flu (gosh, hopefully).

The facility in Topeka repairs 70% of the nations postal equipment, it is on an old military base that has been shut down.
They must have gotten the worst of the Florida, New Jersey and Washington stuff.

Good Lord, Kansas? I guess it makes obvious sense, because of the facility, but this is just...well, I guess that's why they're called "weapons of mass destruction". It hasn't taken all that much stuff to spread across a pretty wide area.
We must utterly destroy anyone and/or any country (government) that had any connection at all with this attack. There are no mitigating circumstances. Any country behind this shouldn't be fit for a cockroach to live in when we get done with it.

Forbes, the Kansas City stations are reporting that some of the anthrax equipment from Florida, New Jersey and Washington is being taken out now from Topeka.

I finally got through to the local tv station in Wichita and was told they are aware of the situation and will have the latest at 10. I was thanked for reporting it anyway..lol.

Let me see if I understand this correctly. They shipped the contaminated equipment from NJ, Florida, and DC to Topeka for clean up,,,, and they didn't put the Topeka employees in protective gear?
I understand the article doesn't necessarily SAY this is what happened,,, but reading between the lines, it appears that is exactly what happened. I would be happy to have someone show me a flaw in my logic.

thanks for the heads up..Am starting to wonder about our mail. If these machines are contaminated, your mail may be if it is in contact also. Strong stuff.

Was some infected equipment sent there? The CJ article just made it sound to me like they serviced some equipment from the infected post offices, but the equipment itself was not known to be infected. Are the tv stations reporting otherwise and reporting the equipment was infected?
