"I so very much appreciate all the kind thoughts and good wishes expressed by the Free Republic readers.
Barbara was a great fan of Free Republic.
The knowledge of how much Barbara was loved and admired has been my chief consolation in these difficult days.
Sincerely,
Theodore B. Olson"
Dear Ted,
We not only loved Barbara but we love you too. I was so proud of you in the legal battle after the election. God be with you Ted always.
Snow Bunny
Thank you, Ted, for "delivering us" from Mr. Gore.
God belss you, Ted, and God bless America.
THERE IS NO HOPE for life of "Earth-Origin" if we CANNOT cooperate to get what passes for "Intelligent Life" OFF-PLANET before the next "Killer Asteroid/Comet/Meteor!"
Barbara stood for "Political Honesty!" We FReepers LOVED her Courage, as she Dissected political lies for us--& attempted to give us (her fellow citizens) a factual basis for our political decisions.
If we are to survive as a species (let, alone, a culture.., or a "Life Form,") we NEED to know TRUTH!
We are at FAR MORE RISK as a Species than as a political Entity.
We need TRUTH for BOTH struggles!
Mrs Olson "Spoke TRUTH to POWER!;" There IS no "Higher Calling!!"
IF "we" survive, "Barbara Olson" should become a Legend.

Proverbs 31 10 ¶Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. 11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. 12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. 13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. 14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. 15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. 16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. 17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. 18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. 19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. 20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. 21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. 22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. 23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. 24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. 25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. 26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. 27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. 29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. 30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. 31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

For two years, we Freepers who were in the bar in the Hilton, just after the WH Press Dinner, were delighted to see this wonderful couple who spent a few minutes with us. I will always remember Barbara this way - with her husband.
Bless them both.
BARBARA AND TED RULE!!
God grant you serenity in your days of sorrow.
She will be missed forever. No one can replace her . no one.
Thank you Howlin. That is a very sentimental post that you were willing to share with everyone on here. Thank you.
Love ya Ted and Barbara
She is missed, but never forgotten..
Wow that was beautiful
and if in truth beauty
That was also, true.
At the memorial service for Barbara, a Washington Post reporter commented on how brave it was for Ted to stand outside in front of the church as he accepted the condolences of the many friends of him and Barbara.
Ted stood there for more than an hour in the bright sunshine, taking great comfort from their friends and giving them strength in return. He spoke with everyone who wished to speak with him that day.
I'll always remember that day, and I'll never forget Barbara's bravery, her patriotism and her zest for life.
