Note From Ted Olson
email

Posted on 10/22/2001 1:17:52 PM PDT by Paul Rodriguez

"I so very much appreciate all the kind thoughts and good wishes expressed by the Free Republic readers.

Barbara was a great fan of Free Republic.

The knowledge of how much Barbara was loved and admired has been my chief consolation in these difficult days.

Sincerely,
Theodore B. Olson"

Eternal rest grant her O Lord.

Her deeds, of course, will last with us forever.

Ted, thank you for thinking of us Freepers and for giving that interview; it helped all of us who care so much for both of you and who were so distressed when we learned Barbara was on that plane. As you can see from these posts, you two hold special places in our hearts and inspire us to keep trying to be the best we can be in our homes and in our country. May God's mercy and blessings surround you.

Barbara and Ted are my heroes. They both went above and beyond the call of duty to restore decency to our government and our country. I know Barbara's spirit will guide and inspire Ted to further greatness in her honor.

We are all with you Ted! Most heartfelt condolences for your (and our) loss.

Ted Olson, our thoughts and prayers are with you. I am sorry for your loss. Barbara was a wonderful lady and an inspiration to conservatives everywhere in the United States. She is not gone as her spirit lives on in every member of Free Republic who fights for our liberties.

GOD bless you sir, and may HE bless Barbara's spirit as well. She has gone home to a place HE has prepared for her in heaven.

Thank you Paul for conveying this message...bless your heart.

Ted, thank you for your faith, your hard work on behalf of our Free Republic, and your endurance. Eternal vigilance truly is the price of liberty, and you have continued to demonstrate to the world that you know that this is so.

Jesus warned against burying our talents (taking the safe route), but both you and your beloved Barbara obviously never fell into that trap---we really appreciate the sacrifices you both have made on our behalf.

I have no doubt that BKO stepped directly off that plane into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior---where she heard these words:

"Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful in a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things; enter into the joy of thy Lord." -Matthew 25-21

"Come, ye blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; For I was hungry and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave Me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took Me in: naked, and ye clothed Me: I was sick, and ye visited Me: I was in prison, and ye came unto Me.

Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, 'Lord, when saw we Thee hungry, and fed Thee? or thirsty, and gave Thee drink? When saw we Thee a stranger, and took Thee in? or naked, and clothed Thee? or when saw we Thee sick,or in prison, and came to Thee?

And the King shall answer and say unto them, 'Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me."-Matthew 25:34-40

Mr. Olson, I thank you for your service to God, the nation, to me and my family, and to our posterity.

Thank you, Paul.

Barbara always made it so wonderful to watch the TV political debates. And I understand she was a ballet dancer and huge supporter of the fine arts -- I know now what made her special; she was truly a renaissance woman. I cried when I heard about her part in the hijacking tragedy and I so admire her bravery. Maybe someday there will be a ballet scolarship in her name; the fine arts are made finer when supported by people who like Barbara have a true soul and love of beauty.

Barbara now dances with wings on her feet!

Thank you for forwarding Mr.Olson's note to those of us at Free Republic who miss Barbara so much. Although I sat numb throughout all the television coverage of the terrorist attack on September 11th, tears didn't start flowing until I heard that Barbara had been aboard the plane that had hit the Pentagon. My wife and I spent many an evening cheering her on during her appearances on the "talking heads" programs. We miss her terribly, Mr. Olson, and will continue to pray for G-d to provide you with the strength you need in this difficult time.

Mr. Rodriguez...Insight ROCKS! Thanks for all that you do!

God Bless Mr. Olson. Barbara was truly a classy lady and will be sorely missed. I bought her book last week as my own special tribute to her and Mr. Olson. I could hear her voice as I read her words through misty eyes. As the angels above now know, she is remarkable.

Note to Mr. Ted Olson: You were a lucky man. You wife inspired many, many people. We will miss her, but we will strive to be what she was and what she believed in.

Thank you, sir, for allowing us to grieve with you. As you have lost the love of your life, we have lost a good friend. Our prayers are with you, may you hear her voice when you need her. I'm sure she is watching all of us now, but she will be with you for the rest of your life. She will be waiting for you. Godspeed, Ted Olson, and may He hold you in the palm of His right hand.
