In a recent press conference, he responded to one of those rediculous questions, by replying, "Now let me unravel your question, before I even attempt to answer it".. The stupid one who asked the question, still did not get it. I love to watch him. These types of questions were NEVER asked to the previous Defense Department, as best I can recall.

Let me pose a devils advocate question. First of all we assume that no information would be released that would endanger an ongoing operation or peoples lives. Now the question. Does a free society or Free Republic as it were, deserve an independent accounting of our governments activities during times of war? If you don't want the press to bring you that independent accounting, then who?
I find it quite ironic that Freepers have a natural distrust of government except during a time of war. Can the government ever be trusted to always tell us the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth?
