ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (Reuters) - President Pervez Musharraf on Monday threatened to teach arch-rival India a lesson if it attacked across their disputed border in Kashmir (news - web sites).
In an interview with state-run Pakistan Television, he said
Indian leaders not to hurl threats of attacks across the military Line of Control in the disputed Himalayan region and follow the path of dialogue to settle the Kashmir dispute.
Musharraf said Pakistan would not let India take a military advantage in Kashmir from of the current Afghan crisis, and added: ``Armed forces are fully prepared, not only defensively but we will teach them a lesson if at all they try to do anything.''

Now why the heck would we want the Grand Mosque? My secret sources say for tourism and for the concession stands. The Saudi problem is simply with the purity of food preparation.

Pakistan Says It Will Teach India Lesson if Attacked Oh my. Pakistan is sure going to be busy shortly.
I do hope, for their sake, that there is some substance behind the bluster or it's not going to be pretty for them.
I don't see a repeat of the let-the-target-escape again like Iraq in '93.

Nice summary - from an online encyclopedia?
According to this - everytime the Paks sneeze - they get their but kicked and lose half their country!
If India and Pakistan start tossing nukes least it'll give us the standard excuse - "See everyboy else is doing it!"
Then look out! (We've got lots!)

I had never really formed an opinion about the India-pakistan conflict. I did not know who was right or wrong, or if there even was a right or wrong in the conflict.
I now understand why India hates pakistan so much. I support India.

[start sarcasm]
Can't we send a few hundred Progressive Anti-War Democrats over to Pakistan to show them how to understand the Indian's point of view?
Me, I would mandate that an Indian Hindu would have to marry an Pakistan Muslim, and vice-versa. After two generations, you wouldn't have two countries, but one. Of course, this idea would violate a lot of human rights, but hey, safety over rights, no?
[end sarcasm]

Muslim fanatics vs. people who believe they will be reincarnated.
What exactly is there to prevent these groups from going nuclear?

India is the long term partner, partially because they are not subject to falling under a wacko Islamist government, which in my view has become inevitable in Pakistan - and partially because their size means they are an effective counterbalance to China. They are becoming more capitalist as time goes on, as the software industry in Bangalore is showing.
Plus they are an English speaking country, at least in part.
If Pakistan falls to the wacko Islamists, time to write India a blank cheque.

That statement and even hinting at useing nuclear weapons in such a debate shows how pakistian is not a nation who understands the power they contain and weilds it like a drunk weilds a gun in a crowed room. You trust arab nations with that sort of weapon? I don't. No, I wouldn't trust Arab nations with nuclear weapons, either.
However, for what it is worth, Pakistan is not an Arab nation. Pakistanis are not Arabs.
The common link between Pakistan and Arabia is Islam, a religion centered around the Moon god "Allah" (and hence the reason why the Pakistani flag, like that of many Islamic countries, contains a Crescent Moon on it).
For what it is worth as well, I don't trust Pakistan with nuclear weapons either.
