We bailed out of Viet Nam in the face of political pressure from the leftists, leaving our former allies to be slaughtered. When the NVA and VC violated the terms of the fig-leaf "peace" accord they had signed, we did nothing.

America has had some successful military campaigns since then, but we have yet to demonstrate that we can maintain our resolve over time while enduring significant casualties.

I'll bet old dad left his K rifle and his dirty diaper in the same place. Anyone who wants to feed these rats is crazy. They will sack Pakistan and send martyrs back across the border in swarms. The Pashtun have accomplished less than any people on this planet. They are a nomadic culture destroying race. The Taliban version of Islam is their tribal code of ethics. These people are genetic pirates and drug dealers. The fact that we are arming and training them is insane.
