I don't know. He could have changed his name today again. When I first ran across this picture, I didn't realize it was him. IMHO, whatever name he was going by at that moment, he looked like "he got it". Personally, I don't care for him, but it was good to see his expression, and I am glad he is not running around making me crazy as he has done in the past. This picture, IMO, shows that America has pulled together more than many realize.

This is a wonderful thread. Thank you. (If only I knew how to post pictures, I'd post my grandchildren here.) For victory & freedom!!!

I can't help you with posting them. If they were already posted on the web somewhere, I could transfer them here. However, I still don't know how to upload pix. Someday, I will learn. If you would like, freepmail me and I can find a picture of one of favorite your things or something that makes you proud to be an American.

This is a wonderful thread. Thank you.
Two additional things that are "audio" things we fight for.
I'll never forget seeing a short clip of a Bob Hope radio broadcast during WWII.
He was broadcasting some "favorite sounds" to our troops in the field at the time.
The first one was the sound of a steak hitting a hot frying pan. I imagine that quite a
few soldiers, sailors, marines, aviators, and guardsmen had an imaginary steak that evening!
The second one almost suprised me...especially given 1940s standards of modesty.
Hope had some starlet babe give one of the longest, deepest, amorous female "sighs" probably
ever recorded. I was suprised, but realized that it's true "the fundamental things
apply as time goes by".
I doubt that anything as sensual ever made its way onto a recording even during the
era of "sex, drug and rock'n-roll"!
It came as no shock to see a beautiful woman in a bathing suit at the top of this thread!

My 7 yr old son and his 4 buddies were playing baseball in the front yard yesterday. As I was cutting the other side of the yard,I saw Adam and his friends standing at attention, hats off, hands on thier hearts, and my son holding a small flag in the air and singing the national anthem.I immediately stopped the mower and watched how pure and innocent they stood, proud and free.If only I had a camera....but I swear that memory will always be etched in my mind.

This Is What We Are Fighting For!!
FACE THE FLAG
Narrated by:
Listen to Face the Flag
(You must have Real Audio)
Face the flag of stars and bars
Of red and white and blue,
A flag that guarantees the rights
For men like me and you.
Face the flag, son! Read what's written there,
the history, the progress and the heritage we share.
Our flag reflects the past, son, but stands for so much more,
and in this age of Aquarius, it still flies in the fore.
It leads the forward movement shared by all mankind,
to learn...to love...to live...with peace of mind.
To learn the mysteries of space, as well as those of earth,
to love each man for what he is, regardless of his birth.
To live without the fear of reprisal for belief;
to ease the tensions of the world that cries out for relief.
Face the flag of stars and bars
Of red and white and blue,
A flag that guarantees the rights
For men like me and you.
Face the flag, son! Take a good long look.
What you're seeing now can't be found in any history book.
It's the present and the future, son. It's being written now.
And you're the one to write it, but the flag can show you how. Do you know what it stands for? What its makers meant?
To think...To speak...the privilege of dissent.
To think our leaders might be wrong...to stand and tell them so.
These are the things that other men under other flags will never know.
But, Responsibility...that's the cross that free men must bear.
And if you don't accept that, the freedom isn't there.
Face the flag of stars and bars
Of red and white and blue,
A flag that guarantees the rights
For men like me and you.
Face the flag, son, and face reality.
Our strengths and our freedoms, are based in unity.
The flag is but a symbol, son, of the world's greatest nation, And as long as it keeps flying, there's cause for celebration.
So do what you've got to do, but always keep in mind,
A lot of people believe in peace...but there are the other kind.
If we want to keep these freedoms, we may have to fight again.
God forbid, but if we do, let's always fight to win,
For the fate of a loser, is futile and it's bare...
No love...No peace...just misery and despair.
Face the flag, son...
and thank God it's still there.
