So now we know: bomb sniffing dogs are also gun sniffing dogs.
And now we are entering the "anti-terrorism highway checkpoint" phase of American history.
Guess who is going to go down for the weapons found? "Right wing gun nuts" like you and me.
We all know where this is going. Maybe I should get back to writing my RKBA novel, it looks like we will be next on the target list.
yeah, they sniff for nitrates.

That is a fact

At least here in the People's Republic of Connecticut that will not be a problem as I maintain my pistol permit and that entitles me to transport pistols and long guns in a manner that does not alarm the public. Of course getting accross state lines to another state brings up some very unpleasent questions.

Hey the leftists would rather get the right wing Americans who believe in the Right to Keep and Bear arms tan fight OBL, al Qaeda and the Taliban.
Woek on your book it will be needed.
Sttay well - stay safe - stay armed - Yorktown
I always suspected that the dogs could sniff out powder/propellents.
I hope you're wrong, but certain "right wing problems" could be taken care of easily with an official proclamation as "terrorist" groups. John Ashcroft scared the hell out of me when he demanded sweeping, permanent laws to fight terrorism. He reasoned that the war will be ongoing, so temporary measures would not suffice. If he wasn't appointed by Bush, everyone here would put him in the same class as Reno. Not that anything would happen right away, but as I'm sure you know, these laws could and most probably will be abused by future administrations.
