Except for many leftists do have answers. I don't have time to go into them but keep in mind that most people who are opposed to what they view as U.S. imperialism do not see themselves as pacifists. How does our present war constitute U.S. imperialism? It is purely defensive in nature.

There arguments basically are those of "moral equivalence" or that the U.S. has been going around bombing other countries for years -which is true if you don't go any further- and that thus September 11 was an act of retaliation for those actions. Therefore U.S. military strikes are a continuation of old policies. Many of them see the U.S. as trying to dominate the world through the pretense of responding to a terrorist attack.
