October 15, 2001 -- PORTLAND, Maine - Isanu Dyson, a fifth-generation American who converted to Islam three years ago, is prepared to join the jihad against the United States, and believes government workers are fair targets. The 24-year-old Maine resident, who carries a dagger and 3-foot sword, told The Post it would be "noble" to enlist with the Taliban and fight against American soldiers in Afghanistan.

"I would consider it more noble for me to go and get myself out of the country, renounce my citizenship, end up in Afghanistan, pick up a gun and fight alongside everyone else against the enemy - American soldiers," he said. I am just curious...does anyone know if we have laws that would enable the government to deport (or detain) someone who makes statements such as this, particularly in a time of war?
Oh yeah, there are laws (sedition, treason). What's missing is the will to enforce those laws.

He may carry a sword, but can he use it? Hope he doesn't think watching the Highlander series makes him a good swordsman. Of course, he could find out for certain by showing up at an SCA event and "re-enacting" a battle from the third crusade with a patriotic Count or Duke. Let him choose whether he wants to use rattan or if he is really a soldier of Islam, maybe he would like live steel.

No doubt about that.
One wonders if he just dresses up like that at home, spouting that crap over the phone, then when he goes to pick up his gov't check for mental disability, he wears torn jeans sixties style and whines about being misunderstood.

All I know is the following definition of treason directly from the U.S. Constitution, Article III, Section 3:
"Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court."
Bold mine, of course.

More evidence that Moslim are more loyal to Islam than to their countries, a bunch of fifth columnists Perhaps it is time to bring back the Loyalty Oaths of the 1940's, for those that display disloyalty.

Strip him of his citizenship and deport him to Afghanistan. Oh, trim his beard first.

Staying awash in all this bureaucratic busywork, rituals of mourning, and public relations coddling of home grown Arabs, keeps the airwaves crackling and Americans paralyzed with fear of what the terrorists will do to them next - when we should be doing something to them...

Advocation of armed revolution/aid and comfort to the enemy/sedition, etc. are all in the treason statutes. If you really want the cite, i'll look it up.
Anyway, a person of his appearance and rhetoric, armed as he is, would present a threat to one's life. Under most "self defense" statutes the use of deadly force is justified when "reasonable presumption exists that one's person, property, or family is in iminent danger of their lives or limbs". The funny thing is that this wacko is bringing a knife to a gunfight!

Oh, trim his beard first. Trim more than that. Let him find out how women are treated in "the true Islam"...

Some people will do anything to get their picture in the paper. What a loser. I hope he likes bacon.
In case he forgot: ... against all enemies, foreign or domestic.
Traitor.

Perhaps someone should forward this article to the FBI. I can't help but wonder how much research they do on things like this. But this guy definitely has committed treason.
"Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court."
I would say that by putting his philosophy in print he has many, many witnesses to his treason.

When alive, the Ayatollah said, "Islam wants all the world to be one family. Islam, while respecting one' homeland, which is one's place of birth, doesn't place it before Islam...the notion that we are Iranian and they are Lebanese or form some other place is not propounded in Islam...There are no separate accounts...Islam has come to unite all the peoples of the world, whether Arab or non-Arab, Turk or Persian, with each other into a great umma called the umma of Islam and to establish it in the world so that those who want to gain control of these Islamic governments and Islamic centers will be unable to do so."

Dyson, who is unemployed
Can't imagine why.
