(Bill) Clinton urges end to global inequalities after war

PRAGUE, Oct 15 (Reuters) - Former U.S. President Bill Clinton said on Monday the United States and its allies had to win the war against terrorism but in the long run the West also had to bring an end to global inequalities.

Speaking at a human rights conference in the Czech capital, Clinton repeated his support for his successor George W. Bush, and the action taken following last month's suicide attacks on the United States.

"At the moment we have to win the fight we are in, but over the long run we have to spread the benefits and shrink the burdens of this new age," he said.

"We have to get people in the developing world to turn away from primitive hatreds, we have to get people in the developed world to turn away from short-sighted selfishness," he said.

He said global inequalities fuelled violence and the United States and other wealthy countries had to do more to combat poverty, AIDS and environmental issues such as global warming.

Bush in March pulled out of the 1997 Kyoto treaty on climate change, saying the deal, signed by Clinton, would harm the U.S. eocnomy.

By withdrawing from the accord, Bush removed the world's biggest economy and the emitter of one quarter of the globe's man-made greenhouse gases, from a system based on countries of the world acting in concert.

So, x42 is agreeing, in effect, that we brought this on ourselves.

Would someone remind the ex-president that his precious Kyoto Treaty was trounced in the Senate, and despite his formidable leadership skills, he was unable to convince a single Senator to vote for it.

I guess Clinton has found the new role he was looking for; spouting inane platitudes unworthy of a seventh grade girls' debate club.

"If y'all elect me Mr. America I'll work for world peace and smiley faces for all!"

I think he needs to sit the Missus down and set her straight about "airport inequalities" first.

Perhaps we should ask the DNC if the Clintoons are planning to donate all of the advaances, profits, royalties, etc., to the poor countries?

Opps I forgot, Its on the back of the taxpayer the liberals place such burdens!

I thought we had all agreed that world communism was NOT the answer... (But, hey, it could really only work if Billy Jeff were in charge of it all!) </sarcasm>

Oh, I thank God that X42 is no longer at the helm. Hallelujah. I shudder to think of the "what ifs".

He's having a hard time facing that Communism is over. He's doing a one-man crusade over there to bring it back and typical of Clintons, he isn't too low to use a tragedy to accomplish his own evil goals.

Clinton...Clinton....(???) Oh yes...that person that was President. Isn't he the one who campaigned on women's rights and raped them one at a time? What's he smoking now?

Sure billy, let us let terror nations handle our bank accounts and police forces. Then we'll all be equal ... save for the terror nations that impose their dogmas as being superior to ours.

When are liberals going to understand that only arts are equal? Hence even a foetus should be preserved as an artist smiling in the womb.

But noooo for liberals INEQUALITY OF THE ARTS IS OK, HITLER CAN RULE, IT'S JUST THAT HE SHOULD HAVE JUST AS MUCH MONEY AND BOMBS AS WE DO. HOW CONVENIENT FOR NAZIES ... OR LIBERALS... INDEED.

Clinton is the real life rendition of Steve Martin's the Jerk!

Clinton's open boarders, a bridge to the 21st century. It's time to tear down his bridge before any more of his terrorist come acrise the Mexican boarder. Mexican boarder needs to be closed. Mexico is feeding off this war.
