With all the new changes going on, I was thinking of all the cool thing FR does. The notify feature was sweet and I JUST found out about it. Can anyone else thing of the cool things Freerepublic has to offer (must be a member to use)? Here is my list(with URL):

Duh, okay!
Thanks guys. I've noticed the changes during my brief forays, but haven't had the time to explore.
Ciao.

Have I screwed something up? I have always had in the top left corner a message box that showed my flag and if I had any mail it showed how many messages.
That whole box is now gone. I have tried to find out what I did to make it leave and cannot figure it out.
Help........

Really? i dont think there is a way to turn them off. Maybe this is a question for John. I know that Locale notifications can be turned off.

I'm ready for
few others to have a look at what I'm doing with my beta version of an FR CSS Stylesheet Editor. You can see it at
my FR website.
Javascript-based. Tested only with IE 6 so far. Should work with IE 5.x. Probably will even work with IE 4 since I wrote it using IE 4 specs.
Netscape will
not work because NS doesn't expose the
docuument.all collection. Apparently, NS uses something else and I don't have docs for it yet.
This is a very rough version. I just thought you guys might like to see what I'm doing so far. The editor uses a basic test page from FR. The editor places it in a scrollable sub-window. The editor sniffs out all the fr_* tags and sets itself up to edit those styles. So far, it can recall any custom color settings the user has made. The left/center/right/justify alignment is working. I'm just looking at how to do Fonts. It will probably simply be a single text box for the font's attributes:
fontStyle, fontVariant, fontWeight, fontSize, lineHeight, fontFamily
A few samples of how I'll be setting this font attribute:
italic normal bolder 12pt Arial
italic small-caps bold 12pt serif
I'll be looking into how to do the margins and borders using a similar shorthand style.
Suggestions/comments? Can anyone test with IE 4/5/5.5?

I just tinkered with it for a little bit, VERY nice. I will play with it later on tonight but i very much like your progress.

BUMP for later review.
To: steveegg; smith288
I just updated it again to do better color control and retain color settings memory. Sorry about that initial problem. You'll find it remembers the colors now. I'll probably put in another thread for demo purposes as well. I'll concentrate on the font/border/margin settings for now. I'm also considering a true color palette. Not sure if people will go for that though. I haven't yet seen a proper JScript color palette yet.
I have a bit of time to work on it today. Expect an update tonight.
