The United States of America defeated communism. Every American soldier who fought in Korea,Vietnam and Central America, or who stood (and yet stand) at ground zero in Korea and Germany (and I will here include CIA agents who bravely served, as well) can be proud to have helped salvage the earth from the curse of that fool, Marx.
The current politics of the world have more to do with the Cold War than any single other thing, and that includes oil profits. We won the Cold War. But we lost 8 precious years from '93-'00 that ought have gone towards cleaning up the battlegrounds of the war on communism (including China).
Get over it -- we won. Now we have to win again.
Your insane. The United States would not have supported an invasion of ANY country to drill oil. Your tin foil hat is cutting off your circulation. Or are you saying that George Bush got a bunch of Islamic militants to kill THOUSANDS of Americans? If so -- then say it.
My resource atlas says Afghanistan has a minor coal deposit, no oil, no gas. Not much of anything else, either.
I wonder what percentage of the people in Afghanistan know what happened here on 9/11. Since they are shown to be so poor, probably without television, I hope they are broadcasting those events on the radios we are dropping. Otherwise, they are apt to believe it is the oil.
Recent discoveries are in the Caspian Basin. Do you have any Web-published info? Afghan has hydro, all of which is developed. Beyond that, not even firewood.
That Simple enough for you?
Let's take the oil. Next, Saudi Arabia.
