1. So much for the rumors of China's support of the OBL and his Islamic vision.
2. Bush has called for each country to do what it can and this is one helluva a good idea, and a sign of support (even if motivated by self-interest) on the Chinese' part.
3. Now ... if some significant portion of other major countries impose the same thing (as a "temporary security measure"), then we will have imposed another nice hurdle on the terrorists ...
4. But, more importantly, such a travel shutdown would give the _good_ citizens of these 19 countries a huge _personal_ stake in shutting down the support of terrorism within their borders ... it is, after all, the upper class rulers, business elite, intelligensia, etc., and their families, which makes up 90+% of the international travelers from these countries. The upper classes are not used to being told they cannot fly where, how and when they wish. This hits them right in the heart, and, conveniently, hits those in the best position in society to take action necessary to solve the problem.
