Don't ask me how I did it, but I was trying to forward hubby's background to someone else and now it is gone. He got it from FR about 3 or 4 weeks ago. It was the eagle with the flag in the background. Does anyone remember what thread that was on???????

Did you actually delete the file or just change the background on the screen? If it is the latter, the file may still be on your system.

What is your OS? If Windows, then you might retrieve it from the recycle bin. Also, the "cut" option is very close to the "send to" option on the right button pop-up. If you "cut" it, you can always "paste" it back.

Seriously, what version of Windows do you have?

Relax; you soon will have a bevy of eagles in your computer room; besides, with such a name you have nothing to fear.

If you're using Win 95 or 98 it's probably still in your Windows directory or Temp directory.
Right click on the desktop, click "Properties" and then click through the "Wallpaper" list of pictures that comes up.

I know a friend who might be able to get you into the federal witness protection program.

Launch MS Explorer and then Tools and then Files and Foulders, then search for words which may have named the file, like 'flag' or 'eagle'. Once located, note the path to the picture file, then click on the 'Start' button in the lower left hand corner of your MS Windows screen, then 'Setting', then 'Control Panel', then left click on the 'Display' icon. When you get tho the Display, on the 'Background' tab, left click on 'Browse' and dive to the location of the file. Select it and Apply it and OK it. You should be good to go. Good luck.

The only place I could find it was in the display properties for backgrounds. I THOUGHT I was sending a COPY via e-mail to a friend, but it deleted it from the background on his desktop and when I went back to display properties it was no longer listed in the background list. I know it HAS so be in there somewhere, but I can't find it.
We use Win98.
Appreciate all the help, folks!

May I suggest you distract him by putting some white powder on the keyboard with an open envelope next to it and say you were opening the mail and are sorry you got that messy white stuff on the keys. Then lure him down to the kitchen for a big meal. By the time the fbi and the CDC get there, he will have forgotten about that screen saver.
