The arrival of a suspicious package in State College has closed off part of downtown and summoned the bomb squad.
Announced at top of hour...but local news and radio have not provided ANY additional info since then. Local webcams
showing traffic diversion.

I post not to jump on the "mysterious white powder" bandwagon but to make the following observation. With
several blocks of the one of the mains road in downtown closed...local radio and TV are now saying nothing.
I can only wonder if there's a standing gag order on over-reporting these "incidents" until there's something
truly significant so that people don't freak.

We can only hope that local/national newsmedia are showing restraint and don't require a 'gag' order, which depending on whom the gag order came from, would be unConstitutional...

One hit Michigan State as well in East Lansing.
Has Penn had any problems with ELF or ALF?

It can't be a top notch football recruit. They don't go there anymore.

The arrival of a suspicious package in State College Maybe it's just something that hasn't been seen around there in a while... like a decent game plan for the Nittany Kittens. :)

Dang. We, ourselves, the general public, with a decent microscope and proper, simple, precautions can eye this stuff up.

This thread has been hijacked by error-ists who care nothing about the reason why it was posted in the first place, and who are demanding that it be diverted it into the realm of gibberish.
Who gives a sh!t about your f&cking football teams?!

Blech.
Roll Tide, baby. even if we have that little QB problem...

I think he needs a valium. Perhaps we could hide it in some cheese?

. . . It'll be okay. Can you guarentee that? Won't you look stupid when we find out that the "anthrax scares" have now gone from news organizations to universities, and that the "scares" are not scares at all, but real?

We had our own "suspicious package" at Virginia Tech Thursday pm. Here's a link to the story: http://www.vt.edu/2000/headline.phtml?itemid=429. Part of an effort to sow fear among the most fearful, i.e., university towns filled with liberals?
