Makes sense to me. That is why they are called terrorists.

I think in order for US mail to be significantly disrupted, "they" will have to begin targeting residential mail. Until then, all of us non-media-business types feel pretty secure. So, is that next?

I think they are counting on a little of that.

But doesn´t this give the drug companies time to produce more medication? I read a thread today that Cipro makers are amping up production? We are hugely under prepared as it is..Fox news said they have enough antibiotics to treat 10 million people.

As scary as this is, I think you're on to something. We can't put anything past these bastards. They are out to destroy us and will do anything to achieve their goal. I'm glad I've made my peace!

Something very few are talking about...some white powder packages showed up at 2 families houses 3 weeks ago. These folks reportedly got ill, but they found the powder to be nothing. I am thinking that it was a mixup in a cell about when to send out dummy packages...those packages were probably suppossed to go out after the AMI scare.

Right on target. Couple the white powder to guys being caught in the water treatment plant in NYC and in Sacramento sans any kind of threatening device or material and soon you have cops jumping at shadows... Great demonstration of critical think ability Francis(hold the beans)

No flame here, I think you just nailed down their tactics and strategy for this.
Of course, what happens when the mosques start getting a few letters with white powder ?? That would be an indicator of copycat crimes.

I don't think any of this is an Osama operation. As an encore to the WTC this is small potatos. It's low grade terror, at best.
Sure, it makes us nervous, but no cities have been targeted, and it's not a widespread event that is showing up all over the country. I haven't picked up the mail yet this afternoon, but I'm not too concerned about it being deadly.
At worst, it sounds like a terrorist got ahold of some anthrax, and it appears that a plan to spread it through crop dusters was in the initial planning stages. It looks like the jig is up on that plan, so our resourceful little terrorist is mailing the spores to the media. It's not a very effective way of spreading it, and as a terrorist attack, it's pretty much a dud so far.
If this is the worst the terrorists can do to us, we're almost home free.

part of the reason I posted a thread about this is I believe that the feds are monitoring message boards sites like this. I am hoping this will at least put into thier thoughts that it is a possibility. I think an email to any agency could easily get lost in the billions they are getting right now.

But doesn´t this give the drug companies time to produce more medication? Once the system is in place to "do something about it", the attackers will just move on to something else. Airplanes were used, then airline security was tightened...but too late. Anthrax is being used, now drug companies are distributing medication...but too late. Once the anti-Antrhax system is in place, the terrorists will be attacking one of a host of other under-protected fear-generating spots.
To: callisto
oops...I forgot to add that the article says they are running out of Cipro, etc. at the local pharmacies My emergency room friend told me the feds have grabbed up the supply. What was available locally was packed up last week and sent to the CDC. Big Brother will make the determination who is and who is not treated.
Trust and obey, for there's no other way...

This is as good a theory as any I have seen. Not necessarily correct, but worth considering.

that's why I qualified it as "Whackjob Nutbag "....it keeps my reputation ;)

The first thing I thought of when I heard about the anthrax contamination of the building in FL was that the enemy is testing our response in preparation of a larger, more organized attack. The attack on the media outlets may not be to prevent cover-up but may have been done so that the story will have maximum coverage, with the hopes of the terrorists that panic in the press will lead to general public hysteria.

I agree in part. The media outlets are the target because they will protect their own. Meaning even if they are asked to kill a story, many will not if it pertains directly to harm or destruction of themselves. Basically two birds with one stone, (a)media whores this is real and your bosses can't help you and (b)incite mass hysteria.
...Or simply Texas Aggie backlash for federal cuts in Afghan research. (smile)
To: francisandbeans
Let me just say this ...
When your time is up, your time is up! There hasn't been anyone in the history of mankind who has beaten death yet. Buying gasmasks at the local Army Navy Supply store won't save your bacon.
#1 - The masks are not fitted to your face.
#2 - The cannisters are (a) out of date, or (b) ineffective against that particular agent.
But it is a good panacea if it makes you feel better.
Be vigilant, be alert, but let's not go berserk over it. This is sounding more and more like the movie '1941' with the late John Belushi in it. What's more ... it would be comical if it weren't sadly true. Too many people are jittery and jumping out of their skins at things that go bump in the night. Live your lives as you normally would. If something looks suspicious, then it might be ... but let the "experts" deal with it.
If you keep crying wolf, then after a while people are not going to believe it. And if you really want to look at the irony of this whole thing it is this ... YEEEEAH ... the publisher of the National Enquirer and other scandal sheets is a real credible source to go after!
