KENTUCKY DISHONORS VETERANS

I am sure you are all aware of the importance of the POW/MIA Flag. This flag was designed to honor the 92,000 American servicemen who are still missing since WW 1. The flag is also intended to honor the families of those 92,000 servicemen. These families and other loved ones have no place to go to stand above the remains of their loved one, profess their love for them, begin the grieving process, nor start finding closure for their loss.
The POW/MIA Flag proudly flies above of thousands of city, county, state, and federal buildings and facilities. The flag also flies over tens of thousands of businesses and private homes. The flag is displayed on motorcycles, cars and trucks across our country.
The flag has no political, religious nor racial undertones. It is, as stated, displayed to say thank you and we'll never forget to our missing brothers.
I am ashamed to say that in Kentucky some politicians have determined that the flag is offensive .
In Lexington , KY., Mayor Pam Miller had the flag removed from in front of the City Hall, after it had proudly flown there , daily, since 24 Sept. 2000. The Kentucky Vietnam Memorial is the only Vietmam Memorial, in the nation, where the POW/MIA Flag does not fly daily.
When we asked Mayor Miller why the flag was taken down she stated that some people had complained and the flag was staying down. She refused to tell us who complained and why. Shealso said she didn't care how many e-mails, phone calls or letters she received it would stay down, because she was not running for re-election and didn't care.
WE CAN NOT LET THIS HAPPEN. THE FLAG MEANS TO MUCH TO TO MANY PEOPLE. TO MANY DEDICATED PEOPLE HAVE WORKED TO HARD AND DONATED TOO MUCH OF THEIR TIME AND RESOURCES TO GET THOSE FLAGS FLYING.
We are obviously dealing with a politician who through a lack of courage and integrity has allowed herself, and her values, to be compromised by some "anti-American" special interest group. I say "anti-American" because I can not imagine any person , or group, who would be offended by this flag at anytime, let alone during this time of national crisis.
Please take the time to pass this along and to send Mayor Miller an e-mail to show your feelings.
This is just the start. If she succeeds in having our flag removed, others like her, and those who complained, will continue to disparage and disrespect our men and women in the military.
Her address is, mayor@lfucg.com

Did I miss the constitutional amendment which gave us the right not to be offended? How do some of these gutless wonders get elected?

Perhaps it might be possible to get a vetran to run that flag up the pole and if the disgusting filth of a mayor wants it down she would have to either go over a vet or have him/her arrested. An even better photo op would be if this were a disabled vet. The best photo op is of the disabled vet standing in line to hoist HIS POW/MIA flag being arrested, too. As well as the 3rd,4th,5th,etc,etc,etc. Maybe even somebody with the proper attitude could walk up and down the sidewalk in front of the mayor's office with his personal POW/MIA flag, waiting for the opportunity to wave it in the mayor's face if she ever comes out.

Come to the Socialist Republic Of NY, we only elect idiots over here.... I'm guessing it escaped your attention that the Rockefeller family bought Kentucky, making it a wholly-owned subsidiary of NYC.

I used to live in Lexington, a liberal bedwetter's paradise, and its one of the worst cities I've ever lived in. Astounding taxes, crap city services, indifferent schools (but better than Eastern KY, or so they like to tout). The land use policy makes the place seem like San Fransico except that it's in the middle of a s***hole. I've never seen people in an entire state universally dislike people from one city in that state. If you live there, you are fighting a losing battle.

KY has refused to fly the POW flag over the memorial (beautiful one too) in Lexington as well. The governor (Patton...no relationship to the famous general and patriot) and ther Lt Gov (who is now married to Heather French, former Miss America and one of the biggest POW/MIA activists in the country...but she can't seem to sway them either), and both the state loegislature and the state memorial committee) have been approached by a large group of veterans (meself included) for four years running. Their red tape and tossing aside has angered the Hell out of us...now the mayor (different issue...this one is city hall, the other the memorial) refuses as well and doesn't give a damn! The only response I ever received was that the POW/MIA flag would "detract from the US and state flags"...now the mayor says the flag is offensive??? FREEP!!!! This is plain degrogatory and a slap to all veterans and thir familes, people!!!!! HELP US GET THIS FLAG FLYING WHERE IT SHOULD BE FLYING! THANKS!

Okay I shall be in touch personally with the VFW & American Legion chapters in Kentucky tomorrow. I hope those FReepers who live in the state of Kentucky and especially those in Lexington will join the fight. I cannot believe that this has been going on for FOUR years and allowed to continue. I wonder if Pam Miller was really offended by the flag. Maybe she just thinks it's ugly. Does anyone think it's an ugly flag?

Thanks for the flag.
Now do you know where I can get a break. What sort of person would complain about the MIA flag?

Thanx for the ping. The Mayor is utterly stupid, not to mention, sickeningly disrespectful.

It seems to me as if there is a move toward eliminating the sovereignty of this country.
This is an outrage and globalist motivated.

I cannot understand people who can treat the memory of our missing warriors with such unbridled contempt and no consideration for their families who have suffered all these years, grieving and wondering what fate befell their missing loved ones. Such are unworthy to enjoy the blessings of liberty those brave young soldiers gave their all in defence of.
Too bad we can't pack up the Mayor and her ilk and ship them to a new home in a Funedamentalist Muslim country.
I finally got my E-mail off to her, I was using a 1 instead of an l in the address. I gave my snail mail address and phone number as I usually do. Wonder if we could get the Mayor on the list for a Conscience transplant?
Take care, F.J. Mitchell

I'm guessing it escaped your attention that the Rockefeller family bought Kentucky, making it a wholly-owned subsidiary of NYC. You mean idiocy is contagious....doesn't surprise me...What a bunch of STUNARDS! Here, in NY, we are the stupidest people in the country...Look who is our Senators...
The Hitlerybeast and Chuckie Cheese Schumer. What a pair!

SLB: I e-mailed the 'mayoress' last night. Also called her office,(859.258.3100), yesterday and today, and only getting a busy signal.
All I can recommend to our fellow FReepers in Kentucky is to "FREEP" this nit-wit Anti-American, and leftist-socialist accolade of Hillary.
As an aside to Gonzo: Barry, will we see you Monday for the cruise?
Best FReegards.

>Here's to that left behind in the South China Sea.<
That started me crying. There were SO MANY who were left behind in too many places.
That woman will suffer in her eventual eternal damnation for the disrespect and hatred she evidences towards our military personnel.
GIVE HER HELL "NOW", BOYS & GIRLS OF KENTUCKY!

This is really the best time for this bitch to show her true colors!!
