Oh, yeah! This dimpled darlin' is a real 'security expert,' as evidenced by his firm support for Al Gore in the election fiasco, and his remarks referenced above about how 'wrong' what "happened in Florida" was.

If Al Gore had not gutted the Commission's recommendations on airline security in order to get 10's of thousands of dollars in campaign finance funds from the airlines, the twin towers might still be standing, the Pentagon not invaded, and the brave people over Pennsylvania might still be alive!

Any journalist worth his salt when interviewing this so-called "security expert" should confront him with Ms. Cummocks' lawsuit against Al Gore over Gore's dishonest mishandling of the Commission's recommendations on airlines security.

On the other hand, it wouldn't do any good, for Edwards would sweet talk himself right out of it.

If he had his way, Gore would have been able to steal the election.

Funny, isn't it, that this trial lawyer from NC, with absolutely no political experience in any office, skated into the Senate in January and, within weeks, became a "star" in the inner circle of Clinton defenders during the impeachment trial, going on to become a major media spokesman for the Gore gang in Florida. How did he out rank Senators who had been there for years? After all, he was a relative "nobody" (like Clinton) from a sleepy little mill town in upper Moore County, NC, whose only claim to fame was going to college and taking on insurance companies so he could get rich enough to run for office.

Hey Girl, get used of the pretty-boy from NC. This puke was on the talking heads last night and is showing up more and more. He's got a smooth delivery, he's from the south and his background is law. Sound familiar? I've believed from the start that Edwards is being pimped by the DNC as the New Clinton. I have also heard that the NC democrats are trying to move up the date on their primary to give him a boost. When you think of it, who do the dems have for 2004?

It's a shame all they can think about is running for office during a national crisis. NC should be embarrassed for offering this punk to the nation.

This is why Edwards isn't IMO the BIGGEST threat(YET)

Last Presidents.
00 - GWBush - Governor, TX
92 - Klinton - Gov, Arkansas
88 - GHWB - Reagan's VP
80 - Reagan, Gov, California
76 - Carter, Gov Georgia
74 - Ford, Appointed from VP
68 - Nixon, Eisenhower's VP
64 - LBJ , Incumbent Pres and VP
60 - JFK, Senator

The last to go from Senator to Pres was JFK. I expect someone to rist from the governor seats, epsecially from the South, and to a lesser extendt, the midwest.

However, Any Southern Democrat is a treat.

Edward's record, how he is selling out business owners, how his own multi-million medical malpractice lawsuits helped drive up the cost of insurance and prescriptions for seniors, how his complete support of the NEA and the failing public school system hurts the children? Do the NC tobacco growers know that he accepted big campaign contributions from lawyers involved in the tobacco lawsuit, or the textile mill owners know that he's against any reforms of the costly federal regulations on business? Do the NC taxpayers know that he'd rated an "F" by the National Taxpayers Union for his tax and spend votes in the Senate? Think we can help share this info with the good people of NC...?

Why not a real grassroots direct mail campaign, beginning now? Surely, most North Carolinians know that he's no "security expert," as he's being paraded out to be!

His views, as stated above, and as evidenced by his strong defense of the former criminal in the White House and endorsement of Gore's failed attempt to steal the White House, need to be on the radar of the citizens of NC now, so that they can contrast his future campaign stance with the reality of who he is!

He is of the Hunt/Clinton/Gore variety. Just look at the disgraceful state of affairs in the nation right now due to Clinton/Gore's neglect, and the terrible condition of the state budget in NC left by Hunt.

These bozos out promise the folks with their hands out and "out charm" airhead females in order to set themselves up as "experts" and power brokers.

Like Clinton, he is a nobody who got picked by some elite group of political hacks because they thought he was photogenic and could talk his way through, like Clinton.

Align yourself with NCFREE, with the home school group, with NFIB, and with Right to Life, and other groups opposed to the liberal agenda. If the Republicans are savvy, they will begin building the case against him now too!!!!

From Thread I (and because FoxNews has the snake on again):

Winston-Salem Journal during the Dem. primary in NC: " Edwards is a charmer, who seems intent on winning votes but who seems glib discussing issues. ....", and Edwards stretches the truth in his ad campaign-Link, and here, and same old.

Edwards role during Clinton's impeachment trial (chosen by the Senate for lead role after publicly defending and attending fundraiser with Clinton during his campaign for Senate the previous year):Link, impeachment a "rocket launch" for Edwards political career, Edwards advising Arlen.

Claims he's pro-gun rights, BUT: voted for gun locks, supports the Brady Bill, ban on "semiautomatics", and background checks at gun shows.

John Edwards on Gore's "torte reform" call to Texas: "I don't think that memo means anything," Edwards said on Fox. "Al Gore isn't involved. He never made the call." Link (a porn site).

Sen. Edwards hosts fundraiser for Sen. Cantwell while pushing for Camp. Finance Reform, and here. Both Cantwell and Edwards campaigned on "not accepting PAC money."

Sponsors the "Patients Bill of Rights"..but on bills that could hurt his home state tobacco growers: "We don't need the federal government sticking its nose into that," and here, accepts donations from anti-tobacco trial lawyers.

Bill O'Reilly has learned the populist stance has put him on top. He will play this hand for all it is worth and if that means fawning over McCain and Edwards, he'll fawn. Too bad, he could have had a high rated show and retained his credibility but chose populism. I can't watch his act anymore.
