Sr. Lucy Receives New Message
Diocese Report ^

Posted on 10/07/2001 4:41:26 PM PDT by HapaxLegamenon

Michael Matt, editor of the Remnant a traditionalist Catholic newspaper published the following report on their website. We have been informed by a reliable contact in France that Sister Lucy (the only surviving seer of the Fatima apparitions) has delivered a message to Carmelite sisters in France. According to this report, Sister Lucy recently received another communication from the Mother of God. In the wake of that communication, we are told, Sister Lucy has asked Carmelite sisters throughout the world to pray specifically on the Feast of the Most Holy Rosary for a special intention. That intention is, we are told, that the world might be spared “a blood bath.” Whether this has any connection to the impending war with Islamic terrorists, we have no way of knowing. Though our French source is reliable, we have not been able to confirm this report ourselves, and are now in the process of trying to do so. At least two Carmelite convents in the United States have indicated to us that they have NOT received such a message. One Carmelite convent, however, did confirm that they did receive a letter from the Asociatcion Ntra. Sca Del Rosario in Fatima Portugal (dated September 13th, 2001), which did call on the Carmelite order to unite with Sister Lucy in praying for peace in the world on October 7—the Feast of the Holy Rosary. In this letter (written in Spanish) there was no mention of a recent communication to Sister Lucy from Our Lady, nor was there reference to a “blood bath.” We are presently waiting for the text of the French version. In any event, we believe that, because time is short between now and the Feast of the Holy Rosary, it would be a good idea for all Catholics to join the Carmelites in praying for this intention on tomorrow’s Feast. Such an intention is a certainly most worthy, especially right now; so even if this French report turns out to be somehow exaggerated, the intention is still well worth remembering during this critical hour of unrest and uncertainty in the world.

I'm Catholic and I've been to Fatima -- but one of the books we bought there claimed the kids were high on mushrooms. We took a pass on buying a wax leg to get blessed.

How do you know your bible is the Word of God?
You sound like Osama Bin Landen who is telling the world what the "world of God"
Personally, I will accept the as the World of God what The Word's Church tells us is His Word

"Sister Lucy recently received another communication from the Mother of God."

I don't care what church you go to, that statement is BLASPHEMY !!!

God has no 'mother' and to say that he does constitutes polytheism, and clearly mocks the first commandment.

Scripture refers the Mary as the Mother of Our Savior.
Our Savior is Jesus Christ, True God.
Mary is the Mother of Our Savior, (Who is) God

Seemed apropos ...
"It would be a real lack of humility, as St. Grignon de Montfort says, to pass over the mediators whom God has given us because of our weakness.

Far from lessening our intimacy with God, they prepare us for its increase.

Just as Jesus does nothing in souls except in order to lead them to His Father, so also Mary works on minds and hearts solely in order to lead them nearer to her Son.

God has willed to make continual use of Mary for the sanctification of souls."

-- Fr. Reginald Garrigou-LaGrange, O.P.,
The Mother of the Savior and Our Interior Life

Thanks ... I'm taking that for use on the page I'm adding to our parish website on the Holy Father's request we pray the Rosary daily during the month of October. With any luck, I'll get out to St. Dominic's for the Rosary Congress that began yesterday here in New Orleans.

Regards.

Of Course the Church has spoken on these things.

Well then, don't lump me in wit the liberals, for crying out loud

I am just one seaking knowledge so that I can know and love God. It's hard to do, when so many, come out with their guns blazing.

My G-d is bigger than your G-d. He can knock the stuffing out of your G-d. Not only that but he makes more money.

You haven't "missed" anything. You are just experiencing the continual mockery and derision of all things Catholic that is one of the hallmarks of Free Republic.

Evangelical and fundamentalist Christians can claim all day long that "The Lord told me ____ " or "The Lord laid on my heart that ____" or "The Lord spoke to me last night and told me ____", and not a single brother in the Lord will question it.

However, if a Catholic says or posts words of someone who says "The Lord told me ____" or "The Lord's mother Mary told me ____", the anti-Catholic bigots here will come out in full force and splender to deride and scorn them.

Would anyone consider playing "Name games" with a respected Christian leader like Billy Graham, the way the folks here have already attacked Sister Lucia??? Certainly not.

But Catholics are fair game for the small minded bigots here awaiting any moment to make sport of the Catholic faith as well as holy Catholic individuals we hold dear (you should see them when there is a thread about Mother Teresa---it would make you hair curl.)

Oh, I see someone has already brought up Joan of Arc....how about the other triad of anti-Catholic curmudgeons' topics,
The Inquisition,
Galileo, and
The Crusades?"

nmh,

We know you mean well, but Please take your personal (mis)interpretation of scripture elsewhere. We have 2000 years of the teaching of Christ and proper interpretation of scripture under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and through the authority Christ granted His Church. We don't really need your own fallible personal interpretation of these various scriptural proof texts taken out of context. We know and understand their true context and their proper interpretation and we don't need the only-500-years-old-protestant-revolt-against-the-authority-Christ-gave-His-church-new-false-gospel-anti-Catholic-bigoted-interpretation.

Cool. One of my favorite writers. He taught Pope JPII mystical/spiritual theology. I'm reading his book "Providence" currently.

did the Society of St. Pius X leave the Church, or did the CHURCH leave the Church???

Answer: The Church left the Church.

The Society and other Traditional parishes are saying the same Mass and observing the same ordinances that have survived for two thousand years. Knowing that the True Latin Mass was the Mass of Saints and Martyrs for centuries is good enough for me. Pope St. Pius V said the Traditional Latin Mass was to be celebrated until the end of time. For those who are so conditioned by the Novus Ordo, please do yourself a favor and find a Traditional Mass (not indult) near you and attend. I guarantee you, you will never look back.

I went to Catechism FOREVER, was baptized, raised and confirmed in the CC, and nowhere can I recall any teaching that the final battle is as you stated below:

There is no doubt in my mind that we are living the final days and that the battle between our Lady and Satan is upon us.

I left the Catholic church and now attend a non-denominational Christian church (if it ain't in the bible, we don't do it). There, we are encouraged to read the Word of God. As an avid reader (and yes, I checked my Catholic bible as well) I can find no mention anywhere of such a battle. Can you inform me of this exact piece of prophecy?

That was really beautiful. I wonder why Non-Catholics have so much venom towards us.

Thanks for the flag. I believe in the miracles that happened at Fatima, and I have respect for Sr. Lucy. So many people want to make fun of her, but she is blessed with knowing God in an intimate way most people cannot understand. Regardless, the Fatima prayers are very applicable at a time like this and I will join the carmelites in meditation. Here is one of them:

Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins, and save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy.
