Sharon to US: Don't turn Israel into Czechoslovakia

20:40) Sharon to US: Don't turn Israel into Czechoslovakia

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has instructed the IDF to use whatever means necessary to defend the country, he told reporters tonight.

He made his comments after three Israelis were killed this afternoon in Afula, and a terror attack overnight in Jerusalem in which two people were injured.

He also urged the United States not to turn its back on Israel in favor of the Arab states in the way Europe ignored Czechoslovakia in 1938. The results of that move were calamitous, he said.

There is considerable concern in Jerusalem that the Bush administration is allowing terrorist states to join the war on terrorism.

Rather, stop one-sided support of Israel, tell Israel to stop leeching off of America, and tell Israel to go fight its own damn war.

What war has the U.S. fought for Israel? And yet not a peep from you about saving the arses of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia by massive U.S. intervention against Iraq. The U.S. is not interested in fighting Israel's wars but it sure doesn't mind sacrificing her sons and daughters for black gold.

Insofar as your remedy of sticking your head in the sand over the Middle East. This is realpolitik. China and Russia have their client states there. China, in 10 years or so will be 80% dependent on ME energy. But for you it's time to stick the tail between the legs and run.

Everyone knows without batting an eye that Areal Sharon is an unconvicted war criminal. More than that, their can be no doubt that the cycle of violence he brought to Israel started when he trampled on the rights of good living moslems BY lording it over them at their holiest of holy places, Temple Mount

Neither of these are true. Go do some research. The violence was well underway before Sharon's visit to the Temple Mount.. which is the #1 Holy place for Jews. For example, a Palestinian police officer shot his Israeli partner in the head and wounded another Israeli days before the riots started.

As far as trampling over the rights of Muslims, you are so silly it's rediculous. It is the #1 Holy site of Jews, and yet Israel is not letting any Jews visit it in order to prevent violence. Sharon went to prove the point that Jews should be allowed to go, and of course, he had APPROVAL FROM ARAFAT WEEKS BEFORE HE WENT. They took advantage of his visit, pre-assembled piles of rocks, and the Imams in the mosques gave a violent sermon calling for the followers to leave the mosque and throw stones at the Jews the DAY AFTER his visit. They feigned righteous indignation and started a new cycle of violence because Arafat has walked out of Oslo and was/is trying to use violence to get a better deal.

Unless America ends its one-sided support of Israel, more Americans will die, as a result of war casualties or terrorism

Hmm so I see, we should just shut up and do what the terrorists say. I don't no about you but I don't respond kindly to blackmail, to do so is cowardly and stupid.

And BTW its hardly one sided. and besides we don't need to support them at all. I just think its time we stopped trying to tie their hands. Let them deal with the Palestinians as they see fit and we do our business as we see fit as well.

In spite of all the pro Israel spew that's out there the truth is-outisde of giving aid all we've done is tie their hands and ask them to deal with those who only want their total destruction. Objectively, That's not pro Israel at all you've just swallowed the Arab faux victim propaganda.

Shove it you nitwit. In what way is American security in jeapardy over this? The State Department is wrong. As an American I have a right to say so.

If the USA cuts of aid to Israel I have no problem with that. In fact I encourage it as a part of a larger policy to cut foreign aid out to all countries beyond humanitarian aid. But that doesn't mean I am going to assent to the destruction of the Jewish state or do the murder of Jews in Israel or to a policy that is so hypocritical and illogical that it will be detrimental to America's long term interests. Israel will have to do what is right for them, and so will we. That is all I am saying, and that is all that can be inferred from my post.

You don't know the difference between living in the neighborhood and stealing the neighborhood.

You cannot "steal" what is already rightfully yours.

While China, Russia, etc. are befriending the Arabs because they are far-sighted and recognize they will require more Arab oil in the future and should try to be on good, friendly terms with Arab nations, America continues to antagonize the entire Arab world through its one-sided support of Israel. America is sabotaging its own oil supply. But oil is more important to America than Israel.

I see. An apologist of pan Arab Islamic fascism. One sided support for Israel? HAHAHHA:

Holding The Bag In the Gulf

The New York Times, September 18, 1996

By Lawrence J. Korb, Director, Center for Public Policy Education, and Senior Fellow, Foreign Policy Studies

After the gulf war, the Navy created the Fifth Fleet, stationed permanently in the gulf. It consists of 21 ships manned by 15,000 sailors and marines, along with 12 more ships with equipment for ground forces and about 250 planes to protect the fleet and enforce the no-flight zones over Iraq. In addition, there are 10,000 people on the ground in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, along with enough equipment for another Army brigade.

On various occasions since the gulf war, including this month, the United States has augmented this standing force by sending a second aircraft carrier, a squadron of stealth fighters and additional air defense groups and bombers.

According to Michael O'Hanlon, a military analyst at the Brookings Institution, the total cost of maintaining the United States force in the gulf is at least $50 billion per year.

The purpose of spending all this money is to insure that neither Iran nor Iraq threatens the oil fields of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. But the United States currently imports only about 10 percent of it's oil from the Persian Gulf — some $10 billion to $15 billion worth, depending upon world prices.

Do you think an Arab led war against Israel is in America's best interest? How absurd.

Nonsense we went to war to protect Saudi Arabia, we went to war to liberate Kuwait and not one of the nations you mentioned did anything near that. And Even though it was perhaps misguided We went to war against the Serbs to protect Muslims. Like Charles Krauthammer said if Muslims can't see that we have gone to bat for them, then they're a damn ungrateful lot to be sure.

ANd to the pro Israel propaganda spew--We have never gone to war top protect Israel, ever. In fact re: war, we asked them not to retlaiate when Iraq launched scuds on them, and they did so dutifully. ANd what have we done in return? some token aid (which btw I do not support) and ask them to make nice with people who will only be satisfied with their total distruction. The same people who cheered when our people were savagely murdered.

I for one don't know what you anti Israel have going on in your heads here, but it can't be any intelligent or objective thinking.

"America is targeted because the Israel Lobby, against America's own vital national security interests, has made America a target of Israel's enemies and drawn America into Israel's holy wars"

Right on..Can anyone justify our support for Isreal?

You're very welcome. I didn't wear out my VHS tape but I've worn out two cassette soundtracks before I bought the CD and downloaded it onto this computer. I also copied and pasted that quote in a quotations file onto my documents at my desktop. John Milius is the best director in Hollyweid.

A perfect example of absurd thinking that takes no account of the facts.

The "blackmail" here is falling into Israel's trap of getting America more involved in Israel's holy wars,

Fact: We have never gone to war for Israel, not once.

The ultimate solution is ending America's one-sided support of Israel.

Fact: in no objective sense can our support for Israel be considered one sided. other than the token aid we've given them all we've done is tie their hands and attempt to force them to deal with those who want their total destruction.

it serves no purpose to antagonize oil-producing Arab nations further whom we'll be competing with China more and more in the future to get their oil.

Fact: we went to war to protect Saudi Arabia and liberate Kuwait.

rather than let the Israel lobby flush those down the drain...

Fine let's get out of it, let's say to both the Israelis and the Palestinians, we're out of here, you two settle this your own way. Sounds good to me.

Are you really an American? Tell the truth.

I'm not the one who supports those who cheered and celebrated when thousands of our citizens were massacred. But YOU are.

That either makes you a traitor or a fool or both.
