Sharon to US: Don't turn Israel into Czechoslovakia

20:40) Sharon to US: Don't turn Israel into Czechoslovakia

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has instructed the IDF to use whatever means necessary to defend the country, he told reporters tonight.

He made his comments after three Israelis were killed this afternoon in Afula, and a terror attack overnight in Jerusalem in which two people were injured.

He also urged the United States not to turn its back on Israel in favor of the Arab states in the way Europe ignored Czechoslovakia in 1938. The results of that move were calamitous, he said.

There is considerable concern in Jerusalem that the Bush administration is allowing terrorist states to join the war on terrorism.

I saw many many videos of Palestinians cheering while innocent Americans were butchered.

I saw not one Israeli cheering.

To me as far as "what's right". That says it all.

But It seems that Bush is pulling his usual annoying habit of deserting his friends to try and win over his enemies. Now suddenly Bush says he endorses an independent Palestinian state. This is like his reaching out to blacks by endorsing preferences and going after racial profiling, When they're never going to vote for him no matter what he does. Absurd.

"Reaching out" to the Palestinians, and crapping on our friends (Israel) will not stop the Palestinians from hating us, it will not stop radical muslims from wanting us destroyed. Its stupid, wrong, and its a big waste of time.

Screw this suck up nonsense. Let's do what we need to do and let Israel do what it needs to do and let the chips fall where they may. And to hell with the worthless Palestinians.

Who said sucking up to Russia? I'm talking about Israel taking a middle ground or a more pro-Russian alignment - or no alignment at all. By the way. Did you approve of the U.S. policy before 9/11 to criticize Russia in its war against the Jihad in Chechnya?

That's exactly right. The $3B in annual aid helps but is less than 5% of the GNP. They cannot and should not be asked to trade 3 lives a day for this money. Furthermore, neither Bush nor the State Department controls that money, Congress does. Israel can tell the State Department to stuff their opinions up their collective a$$es and then go about doing what's right for Israel.

"Remember, 93% of American Jews voted Democratic (for Gore/Lieberman). In contrast, 70% of American Muslims voted for Bush/Cheney. 70% is a higher percentage than for American Caucasians in general. In fact, it's hard to find a group who supported Bush more than American Muslims did."

Man this is the same argument people were using before these events. They blow up our buildings and burn our flags, but who cares if they vote for Bush right?

Sir,
Are you suggesting that American Muslims who voted for Bush are the same as those criminals? That is racism and bigotry if you were suggesting such.

The screaming from the Israeli lobby will reach "shrill status" very shortly...just watch and listen.

No, I don't believe you are correct. There will be no screaming here by the 50,000,000 Christians who support Israel, or the 6 million Jews here who support Israel. The screaming you will hear is from the State Department who won't be able to figure out why Israel won't answer their phone calls anymore, and from the Palestinian leadership at the UN demanding intervention to prevent Israel from routing out about 40-50,000 Palestinian terrorists, including all the members of Arafat's police force (which does not enforce any laws anyway) and Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Tanzim, Force-17... and maybe Arafat and his cronies as well.

If they continue to push Israel's back against a wall, trying to force them not to respond to all these murders by Palestinians, it is going to backfire in their faces. They are trying to forge an unholy alliance as someone said, bringing Iran and Syria -- two of the largest supporters of terrorism in the world -- into an anti-terror coalition, while at the same time telling Israel not to respond to terrorism. How much hypocricy do you think Israel will stand for? Certainly not that much.

Clearly, Arafat is goading Israel into responding, trying to break up the coalition by forcing Israel to respond. At some point Israel isn't going to give a sh!t about our coalition and will do what it has to do. We've been working on this peace process for nearly 10 years, and it has been all for naught because the USA won't stand on principle and demand that the Palestinian people have a free and open democracy, without terrorists as the heads of state. As long as we force Israel to negotiate with terrorists and thugs like Arafat, there will be no peace.

IMHO, Israel will do exactly this: Destroy the PA, rout out all the terrorists, and then let foreign observers/military take control of apx 60% of the Palestinian territory with the objective of setting up a Palestinian state along the lines of what we did in Japan in 1945.

In all your ranting you forgot the real reason that Palestinians and Muslim extremists hate Israel. Because they just can't stand to have those dirty Jews living in their neighborhood.

You ask how COnservatives and CHristians can support Israel over the Palestinians. I can answer that with a question--

How many Palestinians cheered when 6000 sum odd of our civilians were murdered, versus how many Israelis cheered?

I rest my case. Nuff said.

To support the Palestinians in the face of their celebrating the murder of thousands of Americans is tantamount to treason.

It's obvious you care primarily about Israel's security more than America's own. Maybe it's time you renounce your American citizenship.

And its obvious that you care more about those who would celebrate the murder of thousands of our civilians (palestinians) over those who mourned with us (Israelis). perhaps it's time to renounce YOUR citizenship.
