They took advantage of his visit, pre-assembled piles of rocks, and the Imams in the mosques gave a violent sermon calling for the followers to leave the mosque and throw stones at the Jews the DAY AFTER his visit. They feigned righteous indignation and started a new cycle of violence because Arafat has walked out of Oslo and was/is trying to use violence to get a better deal.
