I have a hunch what that 'unknown reason' might be: Ann Coulter does circles around every other writer/columnists who works for National Review

Every writer, really? Better than the likes of Mark Levin, Newt Gingrich, Rammesh Ponnuru, John J. Miller and of course W.F. Buckley? Oh yeah, that George Will guy, he's not a very good writer either! Not to mention articles by such illustrious conservative women who have contributed to NR in the past like Kate Biern, Jeane Kirkpatrick and I do believe Margret Thatcher.

Of course, none of those people could ever hope to be as accomplished as Ann Coulter.
