My child and I are now on doxycycline - she had the beginning symptoms of inhalation and I have had symptoms of the intestional version. Lucky for us that I have ties into another health care worker who made the prescription. I think the spores might have come into our home on our mortgage statements from NJ (our home and all our rental properties), but the area public health care agency has told health care providers that no anthrax tests should be run unless the authorities are called in and anthrax testing is done and confirmed.

I assume it's anthrax? It's nasty stuff, but treatable, and they are better now with managing some of the side-effects.
