As reported in the Toledo Blade (9/27/01, sec. B, page 1), pacifist industrialist Kevin Sauder (scion of the Suader Woodworking Company) was interviewed on his pacifist stand on Bin Laden and the Moslem Conspiracy to destroy America.
In the pathetic interview he let slip that his friend and fellow pacifist, former President Jimmy Carter, called him this week to encourage him to realize we need to wage peace, not war.
Sauder stated in the article that he was ENCOURAGED TO FIND OUT FROM JIMMY CARTER THAT SEC. STATE COLIN POWELL WAS CONSULTING WITH JIMMY CARTER!
Why is Colin Powell even allowed to serve this country anymore? Why does the highest American diplomat and a cabinet officer need to consult with a failed former President? Why does the openly defeatest and supine Jimmy Carter have a conduit into the military decision making process of this country in our darkest hour????? INCREDIBLE!
The answer is himself! He is utterly gutless when confronted. Take the Gulf War. Our forces crushed the Iraqi army fleeing! We were just miles outside of Bagdad! The Kurds were ready to assault from the north and we would have had Saddam found and destroyed in a month. It was Powell that said, no theres been enough killing, and let the enemy live so he could kill 7000 of US citizens! This man is a moron! Swartzkopt knew about war and that it had to be total. Thanks to Powell the guy is still alive! and thanks to Clinton, he has enough bio-terrorism weapons to whipout half the world. POWELL NEEDS TO BE FIRED!!!

Carter's an ex-president. BFD.
The source for this bit of news is Carter himself. Powell is a diplomat now, not a general. Touching base with past presidents in time of crisis is a reasonable protocol.
Jimmuh Carter's drive for self-aggrandizement and love of the limelight is second only to billyboy's. I suspect that Powell made a courtesy call, let Carter ramble on some, thanked him for his input and wished him a good day.
It would just figure that Carter would seek out an opportunity to let the press know he was "in consultations with the Secretary of State."
he should never been considered for the job, he's a socialist, a pacifist, firmly believes in the UN, and for that matter should never have risen to where he was in the army. He would be much more suited for the communist party.
We don't want to rescue the terrorists, we want to kill them.
He'd probably be OK if he'd remember that he's Secretary of State, and not Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Seems to me he thinks that so long as he holds any token job in the administration, he's got the "right" to take over the military and decide on what our foreign policy is gonna be.
Of course, he'd also probably be OK if Bush would remember what he hired the guy for.
Which reminds me, just WTF was the reason Bush hired the mealy mouthed duplicitous Gore-supporting so-and-so? :)
My only concern is that bush's tough words before the commie congress were nothing more than bombast to lull American Citizens into believing he has been avenging the war against American men women and children.
Now we're being told there are British and American ground forces in Afghanistan doing what Carnivore and Echelon can do better.
More snake oil, more pabulum.
