If it took this drought to uncover this village, wonder what it was like there when it was built? Drier?
Be prepared for the wave of creationist who will soon be here to tell you the huts are only 15 years old.

Be prepared for the wave of creationist who will soon be here to tell you the huts are only 15 years old. Well, here I am :)
Hopefully they can come up with something better than carbon dating for this.

Or maybe higher? Land movements could have sunk this village, or raised other areas which affected the lake level...........let's not just assume climate change. After all, they have seeds and grasses to examine.

Be prepared for the wave of creationist who will soon be here to tell you the huts are only 15 years old. LOL. That pretty much sums up their mentality.

Drier?Shudda been. The ice age was still going strong in Europe and North America, locking up a great deal of fresh water in glaciers.

Hello,
4-14-05
I just finished reading an article about Ohalo 2. I wanted to get more information about this find and my search came up with this website and this article DROUGHT UNCOVERS OLDEST VILLAGE......
I noticed your comment about being prepared for the creationist. Just want to let you know that the article I just finished reading was printed by Reasons To Believe and it states that the evidence shows that the Ohalo 2 site is probably 12,000 years older than the Neolithic revolution. Not all of us who believe in creation have fallen into the trap of believing the earth is only 6000 years old. I for one believe it is 4.5 billion. If your interested, check out the website www.reasons.org.
Thanks, John
