Should Homosexuals serve in the Military?
09/23/2001 | Liberty or Die

Freep this Poll on the Reagan.com site. The poll currently shows that americans want homosexuals to serve in the military. Obviously most of the people voting in this poll are either homosexuals or they have not served in the military.

It's been proven scientifically time and time again that some people are born with a genetic predisposition toward homosexual behavior.

I've been keeping my eyes open, and I haven't seen the proof. You may feel free to post it. It doesn't really make much of a difference, but I'm still interested.

It has been scientifically observed in 5% of any species of mammals on the planet. It is a biological disorder and not just a form of social deviance.

I note the use of the word 'just' above. It's been proven thousands of times that people can leave the homosexual lifestyle and lead happy and fulfilled heterosexual lives. Even if people are born with a homosexual tendency, they can overcome that tendency. Just like people who are born with a hole in their heart can have the heart repaired.

In other words, even if homosexuality is inborn, it could be a birth defect. The simple fact that it is inborn is not sufficient to justify societal acceptance. And there are many reasons for society to reject it as a standard or "normal" behavior.

Shalom

Practical reasons why homosexuals shouldn't serve in the military.
1. They are attracted sexually to those with whom they will bathe, sleep, etc. This is not an issue between soldiers of different sexes because they are separated in bathing and sleeping areas.

2. They provide a constant source of discord in terms of good order and discipline. Many are simply uncomfortable in the presence of homosexuals.

3. MAJOR REASON: The Walking Blood Supply. In combat, your likliest source of replacement blood is your unit. In other words, blood donations and person to person transfusions.
.....a. REsearch on Male homosexuals indicate that in the face of the AIDS and other STD epidemics that they have reduced the number of sexual partners they have each year. Unfortunately, they have reduced the number from an average of 250 to about 75. That means that that the average male homosexual still has a different sexual partner every 4 or 5 days.
.....b. The STD's encountered include blood borne varieties: AIDS, hepatitis, others. The Army tests for AIDS/HIV only once every 2 years. The Army does NOT regularly test for other blood borne STD's....all of which are deadly or eventually incapacitating.

If TIME PERMITS they test for HIV before a known deployment, but results aren't forthcoming for about a month. Even then the possibility of OVERSEAS sexual encounters is extremely likely.
.....c. In combat then, to RECEIVE blood from a homosexual unit member would threaten your life as much as not receiving blood. This would cause resentment and be a serious good order and discipline problem.
.....d. In combat then, to NOT BE ABLE TO RECEIVE blood from a homosexual unit member but you be a BLOOD SOURCE for that member would be a cause of resentment because the homosexual would not be doing his fair share, but would be a user of other's resources. Again, this is a problem of good order and discipline, and simple fairness.
.....e. The Surgeon General forbade service members who had lived overseas and eaten European meat from being blood donors in the US. Why? Because of the risk of Mad Cow disease. The estimated risk was approximately 1 in a billion. Nonetheless, the risk was ruled too great.
.....f. The risk with HIV is great despite the testing. The risk of other blood-borne STD's is even greater because there is no testing done for those illnesses. Even with testing, the huge number of sexual partners and frequency of new sexual partners must lead one to conclude there is a high likelihood that a homosexual unit member would ALWAYS be AT GREAT RISK OF bearing some form of blood-borne pathogen.
.....g. The only wise response is for individual soldiers to refuse blood from homosexual unit members, whether openly homosexual or not, which will lead to resentment and charges that homosexual unit members fail to fully integrate. Any parent of any soldier MUST advise their son/daughter to refuse blood, even in combat situations, from homosexuals.

I am willing to admit that the other men who helped were heroes too...you say no evidence..i say that the men who called their loved ones and said they were going to try and "do something" is evidence. I am NOT pro homo..how many times do i have to state this.. check out anytime I've ever posted on the homosexual agenda.. you don't seem to get that.

Why not? If they can keep their businees to themselves, I dont see why we should deny people the desire to serve their country.

I hope you haven't somehow misinterpreted anything I've said as a vote FOR gays serving in the military. I am adamantly opposed to it.

"I and the Father are one." "Any who have seen me has seen the Father."

Exactly. Compare that to:

"No man hath seen God at any time." -- John 1:18

Being an overthehill female and having never served in the Armed forces, although because my name doesn't let on whether I am male or female, I was drafted for the Korean war. Managed to get that straight.

I am not unfamiliar with male "guy thing" jargon and should have taken the time to think this through. Forgive my fuzzy thinking! You are, of course, right. I stand corrected. I voted "no" on the Regan.com poll link. Am I forgiven?

I know about capital punishments in the OT, but I was referring to homosexuals fighting in the military at the front line. Anyway, its no way to win a war.

Jeremiah 51:30 The mighty men of Babylon have forborn to fight, they have remained in their holds: their might hath failed; they became as women: they have burned her dwellingplaces; her bars are broken.
