That was a great song, one of the best during the show. READ ALL THE LYRICS. The song's theme is peace in the world.

"Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one"

Brotherhood. Brothers cannot exist without first having a FATHER . The same FATHER they deny in the first part of the song.

Ah yes, the Utopian vision of Peace in the World if only we, who have the freedom to listen to Beatles music, all join together and totally ignore the fact that tens of millions of human beings around the world are capable of extreme hatred, envy, greed, lust and violence.

Maybe those people that we saw jumping out of the windows of the flaming World Trade Center were singing:

"Imagine there's no gravity.
It's easy if you try
No certain death below us.
Above us only sky.

You may say we are dreamers
But we're not the only ones
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will die as one"

That song is not about peace. It is about the marxist revolution and the creation of the new communist man.

Imagine Pi is 3,
And no decimals to fight.
Imagine winter ease,
If water would only freeze,
At zero degrees Fahrenheit.

Imagine!

I'm sure you can,
If you try hard enough,
And Congress lent a hand
To pass a Law and take a stand
Calling Mother Nature's bluff.

This song expresses a valid point of view. Look at all the world's trouble spots. _Every_ damn one involves religion. Yugoslavia was a peaceful, rather prosperous and somewhat "loose" Eastern European country at one time...

The message of that song is not "peace in the world"; the message is communal living - everyone shares with everyone else - in other words, you can work your butt off and I get to be a lazy slob and you have to share all your wealth with me. That is the message!!! It's pure communism!

And ... the other subtle message is - there is no one to make you accountable - least of all God - because there is no heaven or hell.

This song is sick, just like John Lennon. Anyone who spends his life on drugs is not thinking clearly.

No.  This song is all about me giving my possessions away so that others can enjoy them.  We can all be "equal."  What a bunch of trash.  This is pure commie RED.

Let's see...

  1. No possessions
  2. sharing all the world
  3. live as one

Never forget, it starts with the denial of heaven.  That's the true root of COMMUNISM.

If you don't possess anything, how are you supposed to be free of hunger? have any privacy or quality of life? be an individual? It's a call for communist nirvana, and I found it offensive in the context of the World Trade Towers being the target.

I am no one world tinfoiler, but there it is in black and white. I don't want to SHARE with the whole world.
