I wondered if any anti-war or anti-Bush stuff would get mixed in, or if they would even acknowledge the President at all. Again, it was probably best that they avoided it.
I liked some of the unplugged/changed versions of songs.
Disliked the fact that Celine Dion sang "God Bless America." Would've still disliked it even if she was American.
"Born in the USA" would definitely not have been a good choice for Bruce.
Clint looked very, very angry. My wife and I were waiting for him to ask Osama bin Laden if he feels lucky. He also looked crooked, like he had something around one side of his waist.
Tom Petty's choice was good. I hope he means it, as applied to the country and our military response. But I won't hold my breath.
We also wondered if we were supposed to just recognize everyone. Are they that stuck on themselves that they assumed we'd know who they were, or were they just oh so selfless that names didn't matter tonight?
James "I saw the run-thru" Woods was there. I wonder what he's been thinking lately.
And is it just me, or did President Bush DO A BETTER JOB OF DELIVERING HIS 34 MINUTE SPEECH THAN ALL THESE HIGHLY PAID SO-CALLED ACTORS DID WITH THEIR SHORT BLURBS?!?!?!
Its an anti-war song. Not a good choice.
Well we are on the left coast and just now watching it (it's kind of like a train wreck now even though we have been duly warned.) Just got done watching Cameron Diaz a few minutes ago and I told my husband "I didn't realize they were THAT illiterate." He laughed at that one. I mean I figured they had enough of an IQ to read the simpler of words of English off of the teleprompter but I guess even that is too much to ask for. She stumbled her way through reading the actual words and I have to assume that there must be absolutely no punctuation coming through that teleprompter because I was filling it in for her (breath at the comma, full stop at the period.) What are they teaching in schools these days?? She wasn't the only one reading like that just the worst so far...
