Julia, I know what you're saying but many of us have seen this coming for a long time because of the policies of this person and her quasi-spouse. Our anger at the terrorists is also pointed at the guardians who let them in and let them hit us. Please note. I made a little ornament of beads to remind myself of how many times we've been hit by terrorists--possibly just this one particular batch. On Clinton's watch, we were hit multiple times. Sit for a moment and contemplate that. The COLE went unavenged. Our embassies in Africa went unavenged. The first WTC bombing went unavenged. The FBI was turned into a floundering, neurotic beast that couldn't be trusted with a few lousy files of evidence let alone the safety of our nation. This particular woman became the junior senator of a state she hardly knew and definitely didn't seem to care about. It was a consolation prize for having her marital woes made so very public and being a Good Wife through it all. Do you understand that it enraged us that a seat on the United State's most powerful legislative body was given away to her as a political booby prize? That she doesn't seem to give a damn about the responsibilities and issues she's supposed to care about is profoundly offensive to us. I have far more respect for the Commie who voted "NAY" for fighting terrorism than I have for her. She has no convictions, the normal irrational jumble of monetary and social viewpoints that every liberal clings to in their sea of illogic. She treated US and our PRESIDENT and our PEOPLE and the WORLD with profound disrespect tonight. Many of us have long suspected her of being a criminal. Is it okay if we want a traitor OUT of power at a time like this? Is it okay if we rejoice that she is making herself look bad? I SEE HER AS A DANGER TO OUR REPUBLIC. I don't give a damn about her pantsuits or her hair or makeup and I think we're being poor shadows of the Dems in the Florida mess for even thinking about that kind of issue. Let's not trivialize this. She's a danger because she's in the US FREAKIN' SENATE and she DOESN'T CARE ABOUT HER RESPONSIBILITIES. She only cares about power and the fact that her power has substantially eroded, and her "enemy" was being applauded tonight instead of her. The firefighters who shrank from shaking her hand were right. She is NOT A FRIEND TO OUR COUNTRY and she is an offense in our sight, a clear and present danger to everything we hold dear.

I saw Schumer interviewed after the speech. He said that a Greenich Village woman in a 'most liberal part of NYC' (his words) asked him; Must we have a war?

His response was that in 1993 the terrorists tried to take down the WTC and 6 people died; WE IGNORED THE TERRORISTS. On 9-11 they achieved their goal and 6,000 died. WE CANNOT CONTINUE TO IGNORE THEM!

I see this as his realization that CLINTON WAS INEFFECTUAL and didn't LEAD LIKE BUSH! I believe that many Dems like Schumer are finally facing the reality of Clinton's legacy.

Also they are aware of the sobering reality that if the plane that hit the Pentagon had decided to make the Capitol its target.....most of Congress wouldn't have heard Bush's magnificent speech.
