Could you imagine "Fidel Gore" in his alpha-male, earthtone fatigues making that speech challenging the soldiers, whose votes he sought to shred, to give their lives for him.
I give thanks to God.

Thread VI ??? Heck, I just posted on IV and I'm still waiting for it to load !!!!
Anyway, Hillary looked BAD. She was moping, her clapping was anemic, the camera caught her rolling her eyes, and when Bush walked through the crowd ...Shumer was there to shake OUR PRESIDENTS hand, but....Hillary was GONE !!!
In the beginning, she was laughing and smiling, but she got it stuck to her "big time."
I'm so proud og PRESIDENT BUSH.
He's the kind of leader we want right now.

I know it fell short of "A bag of dope in every pocket, a whore in every bedroom", but give it your best shot.

As a resident of New York State, I would like to apologize to all Freepers (and Americans, for that matter) for the voters of this state stupidly voting that wench Hillary into the Senate (I didn't vote for her, of course). What an absolute disgrace she was tonight- I never thought there was anyone that could make me think semi-positive thoughts about UpChuck Schumer, but I was wrong.
What a wretched individual she is

For a month of so I have had one of those "Bush 2004 - Leadership, Integrity, Morality" bumper stickers in the back window of my car (thanks to whoever posted on FR about them from bushcountry.org!). Now I am really proud it's there. It's clear to see now (for ALL to see - I knew it all along) that GWB is the epitome of leadership, integrity and morality.

Regarding the plan to hand the remains of Afghanistan over to the UN, upon reflection I think it's about their speed, and would do nicely for their new world headquarters. NYC needs more office space anyway, now more than ever.

Jeeezzz. To think a couple weeks ago I thought about taking off my BUSH bumper sticker! I didn't and now will leave it on for the next 7+ years of his presidency.
God bless our president.
(Wow does that feel good after 8 years of G D our president.)

Just listened to Hugh Sidey from Time magazine. He said that crisis is what makes a great president. That when everything is in equilibrium, then the country can basically run itself, that when there is a great need, that it is imperative that we have a strong leader and that he thinks Bush is stepping into the role. He said that this ability has always been in GWB, He thought it was one of the greatest presidential speeches he has heard. ...

After many years, I am forced to Delurk tonight to express my pride in President Bush and our country. It is a sad shame that it took this tragic event to shock us back to reality. This is how this country should be ALL of the time.

Read FDR's speech on Rush's website (it's short). Bush was far more eloquent, IMHO. No knock on FDR, only high praise for GHWB!

Truly great speech. Most laid back call to war one could imagine. Hit all the right buttons.
The "Homeland Defense" cabinet position, unless it's sunsetted by Congress, will come back to haunt; not us but our children and grand children. After terrorism is defeated, what will this, by then, monstrous federal beaurocracy have to do? They'll have to justify their existence. Just imagine them learning from the Department of Education or the EPA; keep creating new boundaries and duties, self defining their responsibilities. Freepers of the 21st century will be howling for its demise because it will be used, eventually, to crush Americans. Oklahoma City saved the dying "anti terrorism bill" (and Bill Clinton). Remember the Reichstad fire.

Did anyone notice how uncomfortable Laura Bush looked tonight. It was if she was anxious about something.
