Darn, I am proud to be an American tonight! We are fortunate to be living in these times. We are blessed to be living in this country. Tragic times call for great leadership. And I believe the United States of America has never been in better hands. My sentiments exactly. I just returned from a patriotic rally at our local baseball stadium in Metairie, Louisiana. We actually watched the speech live on a huge screen during the event. The outpouring of patriotism and pride was overwhelming! The crowd hated to leave even after the program had concluded.

Mary Landreau was on with Matthews. She said while there would be eventual differences of opinion over procedures, there was total agreement on the the President's plan. She was one of the group of 40 in NYC today - remarked several times about the devastation. She was pretty good, and as I've noticed with so many others who have been to 'Ground Zero', she looked a little shaken (maybe even stirred!).

I enjoyed it sitting along with my infant daughter in the den, but I can't even imagine the electricity and pride when viewing it via Jumbotron with hundreds or thoudsands of others. I'm jealous!!
