What's with this "WE" stuff?

Get real. You are held accountible for what your friends and relations do. If they do evil, you also will suffer consequences.

Let's go to the analogy of African slavery. No one ever summed THAT up better than Lincoln did in his Second inaugural address. Europe had ended slavery (although not servitude). War between Turk and Christian brought it back. The Portuguse created the Atlantic Slave trade, and it took root in Spanish America and in English America.

When we gained our liberty we repudiated much of the English legacy, but not slavery. Knowing that it contradicted what we stood for, yet we let interest--the interests of northern shipowner and mill owners and the interests of southern cotton planters--override principle. Then, finally, the war came. More than half a million died. Now WHO was guilty? WHO was innocent? But we all suffered.

I don't reject cause and effect. I reject the notion that a supernatural being suspends cause and effect unless and until we displease Him.
