Because they were citizens of the United States and the Constitution of the United States prohibits the government from imprisoning citizens for indeterminate times with no charges.

It doesn't prevent us from extending to them protective custody. Those who don't wish to receive the benefit of such protection shouldn't be FORCED to do so. Not by the government at any rate. I hope I am wrong about this, but I doubt the folks that would do what was done in NYC are done. It sure would be a shame to see 80,000 to 100,000 dead in Chicago or LA from Sarin before you are ready to realize this. American Muslims are being treated with kid gloves right now compared to what they will receive if this should happen. I am not saying I would have anything to do with it, but I have little to do with the sun coming up in the morning, but I can predict it with fair certainty.
