I agree with everything you said.

I want to thank you for posting such an uplifting and straight forward piece, that gets right to heart of the matter. America is in a technical state of war against terrorism. I have been appalled at the numerous remarks which have attacked President Bush, his administration and other parts of our national government. This isn't the time for such unpatriotic behavior. Such attitudes are not wnated here on FreeRepublic.

A great challange awaits all American's and being united with one another and supporting our leadership is crucial to our success in this war against the evil of world terrorism.

Thanks for saying that Jim, I had a similar thought already to post to one of those aid the enemy posts, and the article was pulled before I could post. The less the enemy knows about our troop movements and battle plans, the safer our soldiers are.

You won't hear any bitching from me when such posts are pulled. Rather than posting to the next such post I see, I'll just hit the abuse button.

Jim, you work within the system, which is commendable. You do so effectively, which is admirable. Part of that system is a legitimate debate about what action would be effective in punishing and discouraging our enemies.

And equally so, we must shout from the rooftops the reason why these soulless bastards were able to perpetrate their psychotic attack -- because American citizens were disarmed by their own government! It's time to set a few things straight, starting with a network of power seeking zealots overseas. In the mean time, let's not forget the power seeking zealots in our midst who are destroying the freedoms that make our country so great; the freedoms that allowed us to defend ourselves in the past.

We have already seen that the "liberals" (leftists) don't let up, even in times like this. Between them and the autocrats on the right, who define security by how well every aspect of our lives is monitored and controlled, we will have no freedom left if we just give them carte blanche in the name of unity. Fight we must. And that means no help to the enemy with loose talk. But let's fight for justice in a just manner, and with the knowledge that we are fighting for freedom!

The socialist's in Congress, the Senate, and state governments across the nation have not gone to sleep. In fact they have just been given the green light to carry on. And they will....under cover and undeterred. There seems to be this idea that you cannot give support for what they do right while at the same time not support them when they do wrong. There is this idea that support is all or nothing. I guess that comes from boot camp.

This is the part of your announcement that bothers me. You will see the freedoms, and rights you have been fighting for will be far more non-existent even long after this War is over. And we have learned that you can't much turn back the clock.

But this is your forum, and far be it from me to continually battle your will.(I never thought I would be on this issue) We will win one war. But it now appears as if the war defined in FR's Mission statement has been lost. And no I have no problem with necessary temporary loss of certain freedoms that are essential to the war effort. And sacrifice will be essential. And I am supporting GW and his leadership in this war effort.

It is just to bad that Gun control, The corruption of justice by the elite, Camera surveillance, Globalism, and the surrendering of national sovernty among other things will continue in the halls of government. If I am wrong then I will have to admit it. As for right now -I feel like I am among strangers. And I can't help but think that I have been wasting a lot of time fighting for things that no longer even matter. And I have given nothing compared to the likes of people like Kristinn who gave there all- day after day out on the picket lines(and invented freeping) and now in my mind have no home on FR because they, and I, and many others have been branded kooks because we don't want to put the other war to sleep.

But a lass the time has come to honor your wishes and put that war to sleep. It is over. I have lost, and now I have spoken my peace. Let the Mainstream take over.

I aagree totally that now is the time to stand with the President.

But....now is not the time to obey ALL edicts from Washington blindly.We must ,each of us, think about what new rules and laws are being proposed.We must,each of us,make SURE that tyranny does NOT bloom in this nation...just for more security.

This is not the time to raise doubts about our leaders.

The doubts already exist. Surely you can't be suggesting that we not question our leaders. In this country, every man has the same portion of political power. (All men are created equal).

It is therefore extremely appropriate to question our leaders when the possibility exists that they might use nuclear weapons against another nation.

Every one of us is qualified to judge the appropriateness of our nation's response.

Tell us what kind of press blackouts you believe were occurring during our revolutionary war.
