Thank you, Jim. I think some of the posters here are not old enough to have heard the stories about WWII. To understand how serious our situation is, all one need do is look at the speeches and interviews of President Bush over the last few days.
He is not talking about a "police action." He is not talking about purely defensive measures.
He is speaking about a prolonged campaign, the necessity for resolve, sacrifice, and determination. He is calling this WAR.
We are on a war footing, and should remain so for the duration. You have stepped up to the plate and shouldered responsibility for this site. You are truly a "citizen, not a spectator."
The commitment of our fathers is the calling of our time.
Thank you, and God bless America.

" And if I remember right, Bernard Shaw said that since they were journalists, THEY COULDN'T TAKE SIDES! Did you notice tonight on Britt Hume's show that all the journalists were wearing US Flag lapel pins? Thank God for Fox News!

And I can't help but think that I have been wasting a lot of time fighting for things that no longer even matter. And I have given nothing compared to the likes of people like Kristinn who gave there all- day after day out on the picket lines(and invented freeping) and now in my mind have no home on FR because they, and I, and many others have been branded kooks because we don't want to put the other war to sleep. Oh, you've given so much, huh? You're still sitting at your keyboard, unlike those that met certain death on Tuesday in the "other war." Puhlease. Wake up.

When Arator grows up, he wants to be a martyr.

When in Rome, Do as the Romans do,I am not saying he didn't break jim robs creed, he most certainly did,but I do not question his loyalty to the US.There is a differance from truth and treason.Arator is outspoken and unspanked"don't know how to spell disceplined"that does not make him a traitor or unAmerican, just makes him mad.

"You will see the freedoms, and rights you have been fighting for will be far more non-existent even long after this War is over. And we have learned that you can't much turn back the clock. I suppose back in '42 you'd have been whining about your right to drive around in your Packard with your highbeams on during a blackout?

Guys, c'mon, things would be boring without Arator...

God Bless America, indeed. But I want to know why several sarcastic remarks addressed at a vanity poster who wrote a piece on his day at McDonald's were wiped. Hardly a threat to national security, eh!
If you are going to scrub posts, at least have the courtesy to explain why you took this action.
To: Jim Robinson
This is not the time to raise doubts about our leaders. The doubts already exist. Surely you can't be suggesting that we not question our leaders. In this country, every man has the same portion of political power. (All men are created equal).
It is therefore extremely appropriate to question our leaders when the possibility exists that they might use nuclear weapons against another nation.
Every one of us is qualified to judge the appropriateness of our nation's response.
Tell us what kind of press blackouts you believe were occurring during our revolutionary war.

Funny thing that all the people eager for action are not active duty military. I don't know how old the rest of you are but I remember as a new recruit in 65 there was the same kick their butts talk as now. We all know how that turned out. The easy victory we expected did not happen. Not because we could not win but because of treachery within. The same mind set still dominates the media. If this action doe's not go well look for the same "WE told you so", type of propaganda to result. It is real easy to get into a war. It might not be so easy to get out. The nation may be united now but if things go badly either at home or where ever the action takes place look for the populace to start looking for someone to blame. I doubt very much that this will be a cakewalk like Desert Storm. Just some things to think about.

"To: anniegetyourgun, Arator, Jim Robinson Arator, I don't know what you have done to upset these people but I sympathise with you. It is particularly cowardly to cc a message to the proprietor of the site in the desperate hope of getting another poster banned. I trust he will ignore that pathetic exercise.
Hypocrite alert! If you don't know what he did to upset everybody, why are you jumping in on his side? Did you start reading this thread from the beginning?

Jim, I just had to join the majority here and thank you for your post. When I was in radio broadcasting some of us held to the "less is more" theory in what we talked about on the air. Some prima donnas loved to hear themselves talk. But trying to say things effectively and wisely, in few words is an art. I just am very glad that you have the "guts" to speak your mind. I am proud to be an American and have the privilege of posting here. Keep up the great work. God Bless America!!!! And may He bless the work of your hands, Jim!!!!

Don't you think this WWII phrase "Loose lips sink ships" is very outdated in this technological and telecommunication age. Just look as the level of military detail published in a major world newspaper or is this disinformation?
