Yes, I thought it was a very interesting segment. His panel looked very uncomfortable with the topic.

Yep, I noticed. And Fred Barnes has no problem (neither does Mort Kondrake for that matter) talking about God and Satan as well. Kind of refreshing.

You know what else was refreshing? Seeing the American flag pinned on Brit's suit jacket, and seeing a large flag on one of the desks behind his anchor chair. Think you'd ever see anything like that with Dan Rather and CBS news?

It's the little things that make Fox gain on the other networks.

Little things like the truth.

I didn't see this today, but I noticed yesterday that Brit Hume was finding comfort in relaying the words of some of the old hymns sung during the prelude of the memorial service in the National Cathedral. To him, it was his duty as a reporter to get the truth of those beloved words out to Fox viewers and I appreciate it so much. I watched the service live and then again in the early morning hours replayed on Fox - and the reporters there are not ashamed to show that they are part of this movement toward God in America. Bless them.

Americans of faith are being compelled, I think, by the Spirit within them, to speak out truth -- unapologetically, clearly, forcefully -- in the wake of this incarnation of evil. It is evidence of God moving in a strong way upon America this week.

What a wonderful priest the Olsens had. He got it right and I applauded him. No political correct new age feel goodisms here. Truth -- God, how it terrifies the heart of the unbeliver.

Fair and unbiased reporting? I never thought so, maybe they should give up the facade.

Yes, Satan is a real being. It doesn't matter, though. Dealing with Satan is not our concern: God is our concern.

If we strive to do what we ought, Satan has little power against us save that of temptation. It is when we do wrong acts that we give Satan a chance to strike at us -- a chance he is only too happy to take.

Yes, Brit reported on this a couple of times. He was very brave to bring this up.

Evil has had a free reign in this country for a long time.

The priest who gave the homily at the funeral Mass for Barbara Olson was identified as Rev. Franklyn Martin McAffee.

At one point he talked about a photograph which had once appeared in the old Washington Star of a blade of grass which had managed to find a tiny crack and grow through a brand-new superhighway in St. Louis, and then addressed his congregation as "My fellow blades of grass."

. This is the first time I recall any major media discussing the existence of Satan as a real possibility, or probability. Has anyone else noticed this?

Not only have I noticed this, I have done nothing but talk about how wonderful Brit was in his interview with Tony Snow this afternoon after the Barbara Olson memorial service. It is time we give voice to the reality we know is present in this world. Catholics should always and everywhere be reminded of the St. Michael Prayer:

St. Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the malice and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into Hell satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

If everyone would recite this prayer at least once a day, we could defeat the evil one.

America has denied the existance of this evil force for much too long.

I did see Britt discussing this and i thought it was fantastic. For far too long, it has been less than cool, or intellectual, to consider evil personified as Satan. i distinctly remember our parish priest's homily, around the time of the release of the movie, the Exorcist. A point he made, that stuck with me all of these years, is that it is Satan's greatest coup, that no one believes in him.

Yes, it's good to see some people come to grips with the reality of what we are dealing with.

The Book of Revelations clearly describes Satan's hatred of Israel and describes him as actively and relentlessly attempting to destroy them and their nation.
Obviously Satan deals the same way with all who support Israel.

The sort of sick and depraved hatred, the utter self deceit and spiritual blindness that allows people to believe that committing suicide in order to kill women, children and unsuspecting civilians, will actually be pleasing to God and earn them a place in heaven is clearly from the pit of Hell.

As tragic as this is, it is also a clear sign that the evil behind terrorism, Satan, actually recognizes and identifies us as on the side of good and as a defender of God's people, Israel in this world..which is why he targets us as a nation.

Yea! Some holy water on the airliners should do the trick! Other than that, I see absolutely no practical matter that would be addressed with the 'knowlege' that 'satan did it'.

Excuse my aversion to religion of late, I am very, very angry. My nation has turned into a bunch of chanting pod-people.

Its really amazing to watch, I will never see humanity the same way again, nor probably rejoin it.

I have made a mp3 of the homily by Fr. Franklyn Martin McAffee. It is only 2.2 MB, and sounds excellent. I will gladly e-mail this mp3 to someone who is able to put it on a webpage so people can download it.
