Howlin, Mega Ditto to your above.

The Toon is a despicable demagogue.

When he sheds his "mortal coil", and if we have the longevity to do so, the place of his dirt nap... (as he journies through the seven circles toward hell)...will be watered with the piss of Patriots.

Best FReegards.

. He needs to show some emotion and stop reading off the teleprompters and looking shell shocked.

In other words, you'd like him to take a few acting lessons from Harry and Linda-Bloodworth Thomassen. "I did not have sexual relations with that woman . . ."

sheesh

Obviously the issue is whether he DID the right thing-- Well certainly not according to YOU, Maureen Dowd and the rest of the loose lip commentators who spoke before the facts were known. Those New Yorkers desperately seeking news about their loved one's have yet to ask where the heck is President Bush, the last time I checked.

I'm seeing the tape now on Fox for the first time. I won't tell you what came out of my mouth.

Oh my God. The thought sickens, but given who we're talking about, is entirely possible.
I think I'm going to be sick.

I don't know, he was better during the debates than under this kind of pressure, but he doesn't seem to really have a lot of presence right now and America needs that. Maybe getting off script is the solution. It's all kind of academic because even people who dislike the president will stand with him during this crises. There are just some times when the petty BS needs to go by the wayside and now is one of those times. (Course that's true for getting all worked up over Clinton too. We really need to concentrate on more important things).

military plane...he said so in an interview
Whoever authorized this should be fired. This was a complete waste of taxpayer money.

How many other stranded Americans got military flights back to the U.S.

Come on, remember President Reagan giving the Challenger speech! Everyone knew a speechwriter wrote it, but he felt it. You could hear it in his voice and see it in his body language. He connected and President Bush just doesn't. I'm not suggesting he be insincere and I know he isn't a great orator, but acting stiff and uncomfortable makes him look weak. You can be strong and still acknowledge your horror and hurt. He needs to make people believe he's engaged.

This guy is a private citizen. How does he rate a special military plane to get him back to the U.S. for a photo op?

Our president hasn't connected with people. He needs to show some emotion and stop reading off the teleprompters and looking shell shocked. Then he wouldn't need to worry about being shown up by Bill Clinton or anyone else. Frankly, Guiliani and Colin Powell have been a thousand times more composed and presidential.

Just so you'll know -- and I'll know that you know -- Bush's approval rating on THIS VERY THING is 80 percent.

I think something is going on in D.C. that we don't know about.......I just heard that Cheney has been at Camp David for two days. They may still be getting threats.

You know it isn't necessary to relate absolutely everything in the known universe to Bill Clinton. You bitch about how unimportant he is, but you never stop talking about him. I wasn't discussing Clinton and hadn't even mentioned him, but you rant and rave about Clinton and George Bush gets lost in the static. You may think this is off topic, but it's not. I listen to Rush and it's all negative Clinton and just lip service to Bush. He says a lot of complimentary generic things and then goes right back to Clinton or Condit-who Dems hate anyway so that's a total waste of air time. Where are the substantial positive comments about Bush? Don't talk about his character in general terms-give examples! And for God sake stop defining the president as merely being better than Bill Clinton. Since you think Clinton is worthless that is hardly a big compliment to the president.

I'm sure President Bush authorized it as a courtesy.
I am sure President Bush ordered it (or at least the SS detail) as a prerequisite for impending action overseas.

What a diplomatic fiasco it would be to have an ex-President stuck overseas during war.

Nothing big I can out my finger on, just lots of little things. All, keep eyes and ears open.

I agree. Something "else" is going on that we don't know about.

I was stunned when I saw these thread titles. Then I thought, "It is Clinton, after all."

What the h*ll is this b*st*rd doing hogging the limelight? He holds no office. You don't see Ford or Carter or G. H. W. Bush pulling these stunts.

Go home, jerk, to wherever you're calling home these days.

I wish his airplane had stayed stuck in Australia. It was so refreshing to have no Bill news for a few days.

Apparently you have not seen the impromptu statements from the Cabinet Room the last two days, nor the tour of the Pentagon disaster site. He made 3 statements on Tuesday.

In addition, there WAS a security risk to Air Force One. This will be more revealed in the weeks to come.

Bush has done an excellent job. If you are not seeing his comments, call your local television station. And then get Fox News, so that you get decent coverage.

it does not justify not returning to DC more quickly.

Are you deliberately being obtuse?

Air Force 1 was IN THE AIR on the way back to D.C. at the exact same time the flight that crashed in PA was in the air WITH IT'S TRANSPONDER OFF, so they didn't know where it was................they took EVASIVE action.

Just admit it, you'll find anything he does wrong.

If Alfred E. Newman were president I would expect him to have an 80% approval rating. Even the Lib web sites are saying "yeah, he's a so and so, but this is a national crises". Those numbers won't mean much in 2004 when this crises is past unless he connects. Like or not the last election was tight and the president can't afford to be misunderstood by more than a fraction of the people over the long haul. I'm sure the next election is the last thing on his mind-and that's appropriate, but don't throw a poll taken after a national trauma as proof of anything except our willingness to stand togeter in a crises.
