And my fellow teachers and I are encouraging our students to wear patriotic (red/white/blue, flag, etc.) shirts to school tomorrow.

Fireworks and firearms would seem more appropriate. (Set off in a safe and legal manner of course.)
Somehow, I get the notion that candles and yellow ribbons are a bit passe' and out of style.

I have to post my feelings somewhere. FR is where I will try and find my solace...

Hanging on my wall is a picture of my father who was KIA. Underneath the picture is his collection of medals, including the bronze star and 1 purple heart.

I cried tonight for him, the people who were not combatants, and my country. I have not cried in a long time but now I feel my mourning is done. I can only hope to live up to his conviction even if I will never experience his level of valor.

I am ready to see if our country has the meddle to do what his generation did. Personally, I feel I am ready to shoulder whatever burdens we need to shoulder to destroy our enemy. The tears are wiped away and now it is time to face our responsibility: the enemy and their culture must be wiped off the face of the earth. Let us never forget that war is an extension of culture and is a complete affair.

I will try and do my part.

If we want to show unity, then we must take it to Washington and demonstrate for our freedom. We cannot let our politicians act like they are doing something when they are just standing around. I think Freepers and others who have the ability, should go down to Washington and stand together and call our government to action. I may be alone in my thinking, but we must let our voices to be heard. To paraphrase G. Gordon Liddy on his radio program on September 12, 2001: We must do something so drastic in response that no country will want to d*ck with the United States again. Let us also remember the lyric from Twisted Sister, "We're Not Gonna Take It." Let the sleeping giant unleash its fury.
