I live outside of the Twin Cities. We are on a fight path for the Airport. We came home after work to a silent sky. This was to be expected. The city of St. Paul hadn't changed it's pattern or plan. The school buses were a little early, but everything was pretty much the same. The mood was subdued and thoughtful. Most of the things that we saw were mostly..normal.
After dinner and a good look at Fox to get some facts, my lovely wife was out on the patio and came in to say that there were high level jet engines outside. When I went out to find out what was going on, my ears were re-aquinted with the sound of F-16 jet engines (unmistakeable). They are flying at about 12 to 14 thousand feet in a CAP (Carrier Air Protection) formation. There is no mistake about that. I just heard them come around again. I can see the lights from the planes and I can hear the engines. It's nice to know that we have heros flying over us all night long. They've gone to about 14 to 15 thousand now, probably to keep it down for the citizens. But, I know they are there. It's a good feeling. They will probably go to 20K for the rest of the night to assure peace and tranquility. God bless them, and God keep them.
They'll be up there all night long to make sure that I wake tomorrow morning. God Bless the United States of America.
