KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) -- Claiming their civil rights were violated by a policeman warning of violence over shutting off water to farmers, two environmentalists filed claims Tuesday against the city for $100,000 each.

Because Lt. Jack Redfied was in uniform and backed by other police officers when he mentioned Andy Kerr and Wendell Wood by name, it appeared he had the backing of the city when he made the July 25 speech, attorney Gary K. Kahn wrote in a letter to the city.

Uniformed officers do call for the confiscation of all firearms from private hands while on the city's payroll

How many Big city Police chefs have you seen saying this ?

Terry Gainer, for one. As Illinois State Police head, he campaigned against concealed carry all over the state of Illinois while on the state payroll and in his official capacity.

But are you saying that it's okay for both Gainer and Redfield to do so, or for neither to do so, or okay for one but not the other? Some consistency is in order.

Actually, I have been informed that Indian is preferred to Native American. Maybe they like how it serves as a reminder of how stupid Europeans are.

Who are they funded by?? Well, last week Mayor Vera Katz and her henchmen city counselors gave ONRC (Kerr) $35,000 of Portland's tax dollars. ONRC thanked them and said this will help them beat the Klamath Farmers.

What's next...suing FR because I was at a Klamath protest with a sign that said FR?? Every time you pay your phone or light bill you pay a charge that goes directly to these terrorists. And the federal government money...AH! Forget about it! We are in SUCH a mess!

By golly, these green little reds know just what to do when their pagan god the state doesn't jump through their hoops as per plan. Just introduce the tried and true trump card - the trial attorney - to further their cause. Swine.

Calling for the confication of firearms is a statement advocating the violation of the Supreme Law of the Land, the Constitution. Calling for the confiscation of private property without just compensation is also subversive of the Constitution. An officer who makes statements that are contrary to the Constitution is violating his oath. An officer who points out that there is a movement out to subvert the Constitution is doing his duty. If he pays for it with his job, then he is a hero, but an officer doing his duty should not lose his job.

Don't despair AuntB, your courage and fighting spirit is an inspiration to us all. The battle for the rights of the farmers at Klamath Falls, and against all the other assaults upon our rights and liberties is far from a lost cause. We have much more reason to feel optimistic about victory than George Washington did during that bitter winter at Valley Forge.

I smell victory in the air.

At least you have made a coherent argument for the deferential treatment accorded this officer. Actually, it's refreshing to see some of the "all cops are JBT's" crowd actually finding something good to say about an LEO.

By gosh damian, I believe you have found the chink in the armor of the environmental zealots of the extreme left. I am an old codger too, and though I could probably still walk into wilderness areas, my wife could not.

I am almost positive that accessability for the handicapped must be provided for all areas open to to everyone else.

I'm no lawyer though, but I know this site is loaded down with lawyers-obviously good, patriotic ones, or they would not be here. Any of you guys comfortable enough that you can do some probono work for the cause? Or maybe work for a portion of the settlements won in the cause of preserving our Constitutional rights?

Come on you attorneys, we are looking for an excuse to renew our respect for members of the bar.

A corrupt legal system is nowhere to look for justice.

kerr and wood are like the little kids who always ran and told your parents or the teachers what you were doing. A little one on one will teach them to respect the people they want respect from.

Neither the teacher or your parents can watch all the time.

The more Kerr & company pull stunts like this the more they expose themselves as prevaricating, underhanded weasels.
