This is a WONDERFUL idea! Every movement needs a symbol.

Along these lines, people with webpages can add large-sized X's to the tops or margins of their pages. No explanation given, none needed.

[I must confess that I got this idea from freerepublic.com, whose members added the letter W (and later "W1") to their pages to show support for George W. Bush in wake of the Floridafication of the 2000 election. I'm going to post this there too.]

Molon Labe!

Roman Numeral II, with the bases of the 'I's brought together to form a 'V', followed by an 'A'. Hmmm...?

An upside down "V", the symbol of the Spartans, the people that brought you Molon labe.

I like that one. And for a slogan,I've taked to using "Better times than these" on my private correspondence, once in a while, but that doesn't quite strike me as the right note for general usage.

Symbols.com has a whole dictionary of those things. One of the "here lives a kind woman" signs does look something like a cat, maybe a cat drawn by Pablo Picasso after a couple of shots of ouzo ;)

Wrong symbol. X has already been taken. Remember Malcom "X" and the X on hats and other clothing.

An X across the backs of the hands is a symbol of the straight-edge movement, a radical sobriety/clean-living movement started in the early 80s.

I vote for this...

An X is too easy to morph into a swastika...

jdege has some great images on his webpage, linked at http://www.freerepublic.com/forum/a3b954cc06470.htm

They are Oleg Volk (spelling?) posters that he has pasted into convenient 4-up per page images, which would be really easy to print out as stickers and magnets.

I've got an "X-Files" mug. It has a big silver X on a black background. A couple of people thought it was a Malcom X mug!

I don't WANT anybody to know I've got a gun.

I want 'em to have to guess.

Yeah, I second that emotion. Let the anti-gunners come up with a symbol that says they do not have any guns. Let the anti-gunners display that symbol proudly on their vehicles and in their front yards.

How come we have not seen any MMM posters and picket signs in front of yards and on vehicles? Its always NRA stickers on vehicles?

I agree. When I took my CCW class, the top objective given was "To be able to carry a weapon in such a way that NOBODY knows you are aremed." A symbol could quite literally be a target.
