WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A business jet carrying nine people nose-dived into a South Florida neighborhood Sunday and erupted into a giant fireball that appeared to just miss homes before crashing near a busy roadway. All passengers on board were killed, U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy sai

I guess icing is the most probable cause. I’m curious if that model of Learjet has a bleed air deicing system or just what form of deice system it has. Time will tell if it was engaged.
I left it on mute.
RIP, all souls aboard N722BD.
Considering that it’s Nov 1, All Saints Day, and Nov 2 is All Souls Day...
kind of odd that at the end it reads like this:
We’re out of time!
November two bravo delta
November two bravo delta
How do you hear?
November two bravo delta Miami.

AI Overview
In military slang, Bravo Delta is a crude acronym for “broke d*ck”, used to describe a service member who is on light duty, injured, or physically unable to perform their full duties due to a medical condition or physical limitation.
South Florida is getting SE-to-NE tropical precipitation inflow. Pretty solid, fed by warm surface water temps. Cold air aloft. Severe icing at altitude sounds very plausible.
I’m not going to listen... let’s hope most freepers give it a pass.
They were having problems with icing on the wings. They did a normal procedure for correcting the problem (change altitude). It is not clear what went wrong. Whatever it was happened extremely quickly and was unrecoverable.
And their loved ones. 🥺🙏
Are there fortunate tragedies?
A boatful of lawyers.
32,000 feet and dropped 22,000 feet per minute.
That is less than 2 minutes.
Wow.
You mean a boat full of lawyers that sinks?
Yes.
Or stranded.
The pilots had less than 50 seconds from the instant things went bad to that last 1000 feet before impact.
The aircraft was spinning clockwise and falling at well over the maximum airspeed for which it was designed to fly. There was no way to make it respond to controls.
There was probably less than one second after the initial failure to actually correct the problem, if it was correctable at all.
I expect it was the co-pilot on the radio with ATC. The pilot-in-charge would have been too busy to talk. And there was nothing the co-pilot could do but monitor instruments. Which she did.
R.I.P.
Yes.
The skilled pilot can make or break a bad situation.
I’ve never seen a plane drop so fast, for so far, at such a speed. In such a short time.
The audio from the dashcam makes me think the plane was transonic as it hit the earth....say 600-700 mph easy. I’m surprised it didn’t break up in flight at that speed.
That’s what it looked like to me too. Incredibly fast!
Yes.
Instant Explosion
Fragmented and melted what was there. It looked like the creator was molten metal.
Doubt there will be human remains.
You know this crash reminds me of the plane that crashed in Shanksville, Pa on 9-11.
